The automotive world has been hot on fire with the Jaguar F-Type of late. We're still recovering from the excitement of driving Jaguar's new sports car for the first time, and recently we had a predictive look at a coupe version. As it turns out, those 'patent sketches' were just a warm up for the real deal F-Type Coupe, as this brand new set of spy images proves out.

Word from our shooter is that security around the F coupe was and is really tight. The photographer had to hide in the cargo area of his clandestine SUV, just to catch these few, not-perfectly-clear images (that odd color your see is window tint). Still, the photos are good enough to see that the rakish silhouette of the hardtop is going to do justice to the convertible. In fact, the new top seems to flow quite perfectly into the car's rear haunches.

Expect that the F-Type Coupe will share an engine lineup with the roadster, meaning two supercharged V6s, as well as a super V8 option. Hot R and R-S versions of the Jaguar coupe are a virtual lock, too, though how far down the product pipeline they are is unclear.

The two V6s in the convertible are both supercharged, just a different tune.

It is basically the CX16 with a different hood shape and it says F-type on the backend. So why would they camp it? So unnecessary. But in my opinion it looks waaaaay better than the convertible.

I always liked the E-type coupe better than the drop-top. I think lightning strike twice.

This car isn't a Jaguar. It could have been designed by any car manufacturer. The Bertone b99 is more in line with what a Jaguar should look like.

This had better come with a manual trans or the car is just moot to me.

Am i the only person who realized that the person who wrote this said that jag had a naturally aspirated engine? Uhm correction there are only supercharged engines, 2 SC V6's and a SC V8. Really u call urself a car blog and u cant get facts right about jaguars new engine lineup? Which is standard across jag and soon to be range rover?

Thanks for the catch, skyburke87. Fixed. A big dinner and glass of wine before writing up spy shots posts obviously affects my knowledge of basic engine line-up facts! Head on a swivel from now on. -Seyth
