Lexus has announced pricing for its 2014 IS Sedan. Buyers will be able to take home the reworked luxury four door beginning at $35,950, the MSRP for the IS250 in rear-wheel drive configuration (excluding $895 destination fee). Stepping up to all-wheel drive will see that number jump to $38,485, and both variants get their grunt from a 204-horsepower, 2.5-liter V6. Going for the IS350 with its 306-horsepower 3.5-liter V6 will cost your $39,465, and adding all-wheel drive to that equation will see the bottom line jump to $41,700. As Lexus points out, the 2014 IS350 is 2.1 percent cheaper than the 2013 model.

Each model comes standard with HID headlamps, LED daytime running lamps, dual zone climate control and other goodies, and buyers can option up their sleds with Premium, Luxury and F Sport trim packages (above). The latter F-Sport guise adds a new mesh grille, revised front fascia, unique seats and sport suspension. Check out the full press release below for more information.

      Can't help but think that this is in the same price range as MKZ. This car is RWD from a maker who is renowned for durable cars, will have high resale value and iffy styling. MKZ only shares price and iffy styling. Ford please wake up!!!!

        The MKZ is also much larger; about the same size as a Fusion

          The MKZ IS a a Fusion! I really doubt anyone will be cross-shopping the Lexus IS and Lincoln MKZ. The Lexus IS is a RWD premium sport sedan and the Lincoln MKZ is more of a soft family midsized sedan.

      Decent price, and looks better now that I've seen it in person. Really looking forward to driving one to see if it's really that good. Apparently Car and Driver picked it over the 3 series and ATS in a comparison...which is weird because they never let BMW lose haha

        you do know when C&D did the test they were driving a 2013 BMW and 2014 IS350, what if BMW went and do some tweaks for 2014?

      How did the Japanese luxury brands fall so far behind in conventional engine tech? Did they devote too many resources to hybrids? Every other brand is turning out advanced DI turbo engines with great mileage and tons of low-end of torque. Honda, Toyota, and Nissan are selling their same V6 from a decade ago?

        @Matt
        Nissan believe in down size and turbo with DI, and think DI the 3.7 make no sense, Nissan do have DI V6 ( 3.0 DI), but not available in USA. A 3.0 liter turbo DI is in the works, to replace the 3.7 in the future. http://www.nissan-global.com/EN/TECHNOLOGY/MAGAZINE/downsizing.html http://rumors.automobilemag.com/infiniti-boss-de-nysschen-hints-at-turbocharged-v-6-new-flagship-192501.html#axzz2RyB54fEw

          Nissan already makes NEO- DI, qg18dd, qr25dd, qr20dd, vq30dd, which are all direct injection. Nissan does not really see much benefit in just direct injection because they have them already, what they want to do is downsize and turbo which makes more sense. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nissan_QG_engine en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nissan_QR_engine http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nissan_VQ_engine

          I might add no one know for sure what engines will be made by infiniti and which ones will be taken from mercedes benz, but DI turbo engines are coming.

          All we know so far is the Mercedes turbo diesel will be available in the q50 in Europe. Otherwise Nissan has been tight lipped about DI and other tech.

      PLEASE make an IS-F!! I know there are reports to the contrary, but I'm hoping they reconsider! V8 with tuned suspension, limited slip diff and Brembos would be so awesome.

      The back looks great. Still just don't agree with the execution of the front end. Hopefully there's some emergency refresh soon.

      Unless you are a BMW loyalist who changes cars frequently or extremely lucky with reliability, I just cannot imagine anyone being a repeated BMW owner. Most first-time BMW owners expect maintenance and repair costs to be high, but they probably don’t expect the costs to be 10% of the new cost of the car, or 25% of the used cost of the car. This should give people an idea of the cost of common repairs required on an out-of-warranty BMW 335i: Replacing Injectors: $ 2950 Wastegate Rattle: $ 3,000 - 4,000 Transfer Case: $ 2,960 A/C Evaporator: $ 3,600 A BMW is not even that expensive when new, so how can repairs be so frequent and expensive? If you have two of those “common” problems, you are screwed. This is probably why there are so many used low-mileage BMWs and so little good condition Lexus for sales in my area.

        I've owned a German car once. Repairs and maintenance on luxury cars are almost always more expensive than average cars. The work isn't any different than your average car but mechanics see that badge and it's automatic $$$ to them. The same parts are also marked up $$$. With German cars though, a lot of the parts are made in Germany and they are most times significantly more expensive than a Asian or American made part. As they say, you've got to pay to play.

          Yes thats true but with Japanese luxury brand, say your Lexus needs repairs, you don't have to go to Lexus dealership you can go to Toyota and save money. I do this with my Acura all the time, go to Honda instead. With BMW's Mercedes you can't, you need the warranty otherwise it will be painful out of your pocket.

        Fair enough. Even with VWs, some basic replacement parts have to be ordered from the Vaterland. You have to wait, and you have to shell out when they arrive. It\'s part of the dealio with the German cars. Are they just gouging you for parts? Probably. But you can always get non-OEM parts or refurbs if you dare. A general principle I\'ve learned is don\'t buy things you cannot afford to maintain, repair, or insure. If you can\'t break off 3K for a necessary repair once a year for a 50K (335i) car without sacrifice or resentment, its not the car for you. However, anyone buying a 50K small sedan, is probably going to be even more resentful if they find that they do not love the car when they are driving it and realize they bought it out of fear of repairs. You do not drive reliability (and no, there is no car that is \"always\" in the shop and spare us the anecdotes.) This is why BMW, Audi, etcl, continue to make money selling cars with high prices for basic equipment and shocking price-walks for basic options.
