About 400 people drown in a car every year, which is a number Survival Systems USA hopes to lower by teaching people what to do if they ever find themselves in the truly terrifying situation of being in a sinking car.

"Fox & Friends" recently sent a correspondent to the company to learn how to escape from a submerged vehicle. Some tips they got from the trip include: keep calm, try to lower the windows, release your seatbelt and get out of the car. If the windows won't open, wait until water fills the interior of the car and open the door.

Check out the video above for more info. Hopefully you won't ever have to live out this nightmarish scenario, but it's always good to be prepared just in case.
