Sure we need to share the road, but even the most ardent bicyclists would agree that these fighter jets may be crossing a line.

Flying clearly too close for comfort, the first swoops low over the freeway. The driver gasps as his whole car shutters from the boom. The second one follows shortly after the first, a little less dramatically then the first.

If this what traffic looks like in Belarus we can only hope that their passion for the dash cam is as strong as their Russian neighbors.

This entire story is an overreaction and what happened was completely misunderstood. First of all, there were several military vehicles along the side of the road, which means this was planned. There were also a bunch of other passenger vehicles on the roadside, seemingly watching. Secondly, there were TWO jets, not one, so this was no isolated incident by a rogue pilot. Further, the landing gear was down and the speeds were about as slow as they could be without stalling. If a fighter pilot really wanted to buzz a freeway, he's do it with the gear up, somewhere above 350 MPH......which these pilots weren't even close to. Finally, the story's writer suggests altitudes "too close for comfort". The lowest of the two planes was at least 300 feet above the ground. All you need to do is closely watch this and you'll see this was a planned event.

This does not appear to be a big dieal. I see no hamlets, villages, or towns so it just may be that the highway is near the take-off and landing strip. And, since it's not in the USA, the fighter pilots are probably not as restricted as they would be in America. When the military was testing the stealth fighter, most of the testing took place over the high desert in CA. It was common for the peace and tranquility to be shattered with the sudden swooping of a "black wing". My children and I once watched one go overhead, ascend rapidly and "cloak"--be suddenly invisible even though it should have still been seen. Then there was the landings of the shuttle and their double booms. My in-laws had an in-home business. Their offices were on the second floor of their home. It was not unknown for them to look out of their office windows at their high elevation and see the shuttle sail by.

Serves him right for failure to signal during a lane change.

I guess you missed the police and military vehicles were stationed alongside the road. This is part of an exercise to use roads as landing strips. In case the actual military runways are damaged.

Don't know what the driver of the car was saying, but I love his passion! Give 'em hell, Harry - I mean Boris or whoever! I once had the experience of driving past a small plane that had only less than a minute before made an emergency landing on the opposite lane. It actually went only a few feet over a car before making a safe landing. Good thing it wasn't a fighter jet!

Even better that it wasn't a bomber jet. You've been listening to too many anchor people on TV. Next time say fighter plane. Fighter jet sounds just as awkward as bomber jet.

      Replaces the traffic copter?

Ketavan LOL - there was no sonic boom because they OBVIOUSLY arent travelling at supersonic speeds with their LANDING GEAR DOWN. DUH!

That plane was flying slower than the recession recovery. Second one was even slower. STUPID ARTICLE.

The Air Force was up flying and practicing air-to-ground attacks. The United States is too poor to let it's pilots fly at all. And the American people are too timid, like little mice, to have their Air Force do any real practice like this. I think this is better than American Air Force with billion dollar wonder jets that kill pilot and are too expensive to fly.
