There's no question that David Paddison has got a very lovely 1974 Jaguar E-Type convertible. The rubber bumpers of this late E-Type may distract ever so slightly from the purity of the lines, but that doesn't mean we're still not completely jealous of the latest Petrolicious subject car.

As usual, the team of vintage car videographers has done a fine job capturing a small moment of gear-headness with this latest installment – The Last of the Breed. We do wonder why we don't get to hear a little bit more of that famed Jaguar V12 rumble, however. There's just a whiff of engine and exhaust sound in the middle of the video, while the rest of the piece sounds like it was scored by Amy Grant's rhythm guitarist. See for yourself, below.

Enzo Ferrari himself called the original E-type the most beautiful car in the world. The later Series II & III cars weren't quite as sleek & graceful, but still quite a looker. The 2+2 & later long wheelbase cars were just ungainly IMHO. Sadly you have to have DEEP pockets just for maintenance & upkeep. When the service & parts guys at the dealer tell you to "just swap in a Small Block Chevy. it's easier & cheaper", you know you've got problems. Could never bring myself to buy one for that reason. If I was going to commit to a car that costs that much to fix & maintain, I'd take a 928.

Owned six Jaguars ourselves and we LOVE those cars....NOT the new ones mind you which are chopped and silly looking minus the chrome and sexy features that made Jag a Jag.....we love the OLDER Jags with the chrome everywhere, the lovely burled wood on the dash and consoles.....the leather interior, the NICE ride the Jags have due to the number of shocks the car rides on...all in all there is NOTHING like an old goreougs lovely sexy Jaguar. And yes a Jag is high cost maintenance but we also swapped out the engine and transmission which cost so much to fix and the cars were just as nice with an American engine and transmission in them so we gone both routes but to those who love these cars cost means nothing in maintaining and fixing them. Such a sexy car they are!

As a currentJag owner of two (1997& 2006 VPDs) Jags, and have had a Jag for most of driving life, I can honestly say ther is no better feeling than driving this classic car. The '97 is now at 299,094 ( miles, and runds like a top. My XKE 2+2 was a head turner !! .Hope Jag can bring it back

For the life of me, I will never find this car beautiful. The Aston Martin DB5 is better looking.

Take the stupid Federal bumperette off the front and back and I will have sex with this car. Love me a Aston, but even Enzo himself bowed to this car

Your opinion, just fine. But I like even the cars that copied this design. 70's Datsun Zs, Toyota s2000. Timeless autos.

I do partly agree with you. I'm not sure if it deserves all the hype, though I do certainly think it looks amazing. Like chirowolf said, those USA bumpers look beyond horrible on the Jag.
