When Jay Leno steps away from The Tonight Show next year, fans of Jimmy Fallon – and Conan O'Brien – will surely be happy, but it could be automotive enthusiasts who benefit the most. According to a blog posting at The Wall Street Journal, without his late-night talk show, Leno would be able to focus more of his efforts on automotive-related content including the Jay Leno's Garage webisodes.

Fallon will take the reins at The Tonight Show after the 2014 Winter Olympics next spring, which will be about the same time when the show moves from its current venue in Burbank, CA to its original home at 30 Rockefeller Center – NBC's headquarters. Furthering the hope of more car-related Leno appearances, after the announcement was made earlier in the week, the comedian was quoted by ABC News as saying: "If you need me, I'll be at the garage."

Sounds good to us.

I hope so... I've never really watched his late show (or any others for that matter), but I've watched every episode of Jay Leno's garage... I always wanted to see a segment on his W210 E55... and some longer more in depth pieces on some others of his glorious collection.

I dont really watch any \"tonight shows\" but his web series is awesome. He\'s extremely entertaining to watch and a huge car guy and he can get his hands on some awesome cars and some top guys in the auto field which is perfect to me.

There needs to be more episodes and they need to be longer.

hopefully Jay Leno will just go away. He sucks as a talk show host and he sucks as a car enthusiast....just buying stuff doesn't qualify someone to know what they're talking about....his Garage episodes are painful to watch.....as he doesn't know what he's talking about most of the time.

I would absolutely love to put you on "Automotive Jeopardy" against Leno. He would crush you and probably 99.99999% of other car enthusiasts. In fact, I'd be surprised if there are more than 10 people on earth who could beat his breadth of knowledge. It spans a century of automotive development and every single continent. Be thankful Jay Leno exists. Nobody forces you to watch him, but he has done the automotive community a fantastic service by preserving these cars like he has. Some day after he's dead, you can surely bet that museum will be a worldwide destination for car enthusiasts.

Oh, I forgot that Jay has been a judge for the big car show in Pebble Beach, CA. You can't judge the high-end collectible cars, if you don't have an outstanding knowledge of them.

And think how many people in the auto industry have Jay on their speed dials, including Ed Welburn and Bob Lutz. Once, he was showing a Dusenberg that he had recently restored, and he was showing how the Dusenberg's brakes could be set for dry, rain, snow, and ice. It was the first, very rudimentary ABS. I never knew that such a feature was offered on the Dusenberg, or that such a feature existed prior to the first ABS systems back in the 1980s. You're right, Jay knows nothing about cars.

Do you ever have anything positive, or halfway constructive to say? I swear, you posts are about as ugly and dreary as your picture. If you're so much more knowledgable than Jay Leno then maybe you should start your own show where you can blow us all away with your overall knowledge of automotive history. Before you do that, you might want to work on your social skills because charisma is definitely not one of your not one of your qualities. You also might want to consider combing your hair and shaving your beard so people don't think you're a terrorist.

Hahah; look at all these stupid fans of him. Come on, you should be tasteless to like his show, and him!

Really? How so? I don't think I've ever even heard him swear, much less say or do anything that could be considered "tasteless".

I really admire Leno. His self expressed mission is to bring all things "gear-head" to the masses, in the form of video, so we can all see and hear these great machines in motion. Big loss for NBC = huge gain for us!

Please, no Adam Corolla, it takes ages for him to finish a sentence and when he does, it's not funny at all. Replace him with Tim Allen and we have a deal.

Best idea I came across in ages! THAT WOULD BE AMAING. And certainly compare well with UK show... What we have now is dull and stupid. Two ok guys and one complete idiot with all three lucking any humor or personality...

After he leaves The Tonight Show, he\'s going to try to steal Conan\'s show yet again.

Really? You have a warped sense of righteousness. Conan was thought to be the comedian we all knew he was not and stole the The Tonight Show at the behest of NBC but sucked at it. NBC had to eat crow and asked Leno back to save the show. If anybody stole anything, it was Conan thanks to the "dumb heads" at NBC. They wronged Jay then and they are doing it again now. He still has the no 1 late night show and they pull this prank? You don't pull the plug when you are no 1 until there is a sign of a slip up. No wonder their network suck to high heavens.

I like Jay's sense of humor. Intelligent, not over the top. His laid back style and appreciation for details makes JL's Garage imho one of the top 3 most enjoyable car shows today (TG UK, Drive being the other two). Each with a different angle.

I like all of those guys, so I would definitely watch that!! They're funny as hell, and their all car guys. They're all kind of different styles, so it'd an interesting show nonetheless.
