Is Geico's Allman Brothers Motorcycle Ad ... Awkward?
Two of the band members died in motorcycle crashes
A new Geico ad features a character on a motorcycle with the Allman Brothers song 'Midnight Rider' in the background is raising some eyebrows.
While the track reminds many people of cruising it may be because two members of the band, Berry Oakley and Duane Allman, died in motorcycle crashes. Of course, their deaths were in 1972 and 1973 respectively, so anyone under the age of 41 won't likely remember the accidents.
Still, there's something a little icky about the guy covered in money driving blind down the highway, given the fact that two of the guys in the band died on the same kind of machines. Right? Or are people being too sensitive?
