The car submerged. The naked suspect emerged.
That's how a high-speed chase ended along Interstate 83 on Sunday morning in rural Pennsylvania.
After allegedly car jacking a taxi in Maryland, Raymond Kallenberger, 23, sped north. Instead of eluding police, a dramatic journey ended when he crashed the taxi into the frigid waters of the Susquehanna River in York County, Pa.
As the vehicle sank, Kallenberger stood naked atop the vehicle until police escorted him ashore and arrested him.
There "was a minivan floating down the river with a naked guy on it, waving his underwear over his head," witness Michael Shirk tells the York Daily Record.
Kallenberger was charged with aggravated assault and driving under the influence, according to the newspaper.
