The 19-car accident starts with one small event.

A car appears to be sideswiped along a highway. The driver doesn't move to the side of the road, and a few seconds later, another car, unable to stop, appears to skim the other side of the car.

Three more cars then come, apparently unable to stop on ice, and make the whole scene look like a game bumper cars. Then we're watching helplessly, as an endless parade of cars comes across a Chinese overpass and slam into the mess. The 19-car mess took place on Feb. 7 in the city of Wuxi, Jiangsu province of China.

One tip: Should you ever have the misfortune of being involved in an accident like this – or any accident, for that matter – law enforcement recommends waiting in your car until first responders can secure the scene.

The people who got out of their cars in a noble attempt to warn other motorists of the accident ahead? Too often, they become two-time victims and are struck by oncoming traffic.
