We head to the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas for a behind the scenes look at the groundbreaking new racetrack. Director of Technology Mike Craddock explains how a facility-wide IP network makes COTA a "smart" track, while Director of Sustainability Edgar Farrera outlines COTA's environmental measures and non-automotive uses. Then, Bradley takes his turn on the challenging course in a 2012 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG--the official safety car of Formula 1.

7 minute commercial about the track. Driver was a joke. They may have mentiond the cost but somebody has some deep pockets. Hope they survive. Entreprenuer built track in KY halfway between Cincinnati & Louisville just off I-71. Never made it to open. Blugrass Motorsports AKA DriveBluegrass.com supposedly has settled with the court. They may restart construction with Derek Daly signature 2.2 mile track. Stay tuned.

Not quite like the Gran Prix I saw Jimmy Clark, Graham Hill and others at my first Formula One race at Watkins Glen in 1964

I was at that race, too. This track is a little more advanced, as are the cars.

Come on down and see the Aussie V8 Supercars. They are very similar to NASCAR in terms of power-weight, they really like to mix it up and bang together like NASCAR, but all the races are on road circuits. I think it will be really cool.

      The green-teeth crowd doesn't think it's really racing if there's no door-bangin'.

What a waste! Where is the one complete lap video? Instead we get some doofus and a promo of the facility. It's a RACE TRACK -- do one lap with a driver who knows what to do. David White Chicago

Formula 1, among others. The most technologically advanced racing cars in the world. Speeds as fast as NASCAR, but on left and right hand corners, sweepers, hairpins, etc. Engines rev at almost 20,000 RPM.
