Jay Leno's Garage welcomes two of our favorite Lamborghini models over for compare-and-contrast session, the Gallardo LP570-4 Superleggera and Gallardo LP550-2. Note, however, that these are the 2012 coupes, not the 2013 models with their revised front and rear fascias.

Leno likes the size of the Gallardo over the Aventador, and between the two siblings, his philosophy leans heavily toward the rear-wheel drive and superior comfort of the LP550-2. With the help of Andrew Romanowski of the Lamborghini Club of America, Leno goes through little-known details like the LEDs in the engine bay and the particulars that distinguish the two vehicles like the Alcantara, polycarbonate windows and lighter tires on the Superleggera.

Then, doing something that he would never do with human guests on his television show, he takes his favorite out for the driving segment and leaves the all-wheel-drive coupe at the garage to pout. You can learn a few things yourself and listen to Jay sing hosannas about the overall build quality and rear-focused power of the LP550-2 in the entertaining video below.

Jay's internet channel is actually my favorite show, TV or otherwise. Funny thing is I never watch the Tonight Show but love his garage show.

That is because you, like Jay, are a car guy. Here he speaks our language. On TV he just speaks the language that gets him a paycheck to feed his auto-addiction, much like the rest of us slaving away 9-5 :) Leno has always come across as a nice guy who likes cars ( a lot). I mean he took a huge pay cut just to keep his show staff from being laid off.

Sure his 'secret plan' is to make his garage a real business someday and do his 'internet' show on a regular cable outlet, like SPEED, TLC, or Discovery.

Jay is my Hero....unlike other celebrities that buy expensive cars just because they can....Jay is an enthiusiast and truely loves cars and I respect him alot for that. I'd love to visit his garage, he looks like a very diverse collector. Jay is so natural and down to earth when he talks about cars. Keep up the good work.

I like how some people like to rip on Jay. You know, he may not always have all his facts right, but I don't really think he's checking them. He talks about the way he sees things, and you either share his opinions or you don't. Opinions aren't always leveraged with facts. I personally liked the part where the Lambo Club guy referred to the glass in the rear windows of the car as "synthetic", whereas Jay just went ahead and said it like it is, "plastic". People like to rip on Corvette "synthetic" body panels by referring to them as "cheap plastic". Funny how all you have to do is change the brand you are refering to in reference to material quality, and suddenly similar materials in the high-priced exotic become inheritantly better built and higher quality.

It reminds me of a joke. Three guys go to heaven and are asked only one question: Did you fool around and if so how many times? The first one says, "All the time" He gets a jalopy to ride around in heaven. The second one says, "Occasionally". He gets a Ford. The third one, outraged, answers, "Never." He gets a Lamborghini. They all meet up at a light. They see that the one in the Lamborghini is all despondent. They ask,"Why are you so downcast? You did well for yourself." He answers, "I just saw my wife. She was on a skateboard."

I find it interesting that Jay, while obviously a serious car guy and Italian car buff, consistently mispronounces "Gallardo" and "Superleggera". I have previously heard him get "Marcello Gandini" wrong as well, in spite of having met the man...

He mispronounces some Italian words, much like many Italians mispronounce some English words. The fact is many common Italian words have a slanged english pronunciation that is different from the Italian. It's not technically correct but it's accepted.

Many lambos have spanish names, not italian. Named after spanish bulls and bullfighters. Italian cars, spanish names.

That's like saying as a 4th generation American of German decent, I should be able to pronounce German really well, when in truth I suck at it. Jay isn't the first guy to ever mispronounce a Lambo name on a "professional" video. Watch a few Murcielago MotorTrend videos.

"hardly a car guy..." That's the funniest yet dumbest thing I've read in a long, long time. Way to let the whole world know that you don't fire on all cylinders. "hardly a car guy..." LMAO. The only joke and obvious, blithering idiot here is you.

He did not mispronounce any words. As an American he has the right to pronounce foreign words however he wants. I personally accepted this fact a while back when I stopped trying to say porsha.

This must be why our son told us, when he was 4, that he 'needed' (not wanted) a Lamborghini! Still dreams, but paying off starving law student loans.
