Video Shows Instigator Of Road-Rage Incident In Walmart Parking Lot
Georgia woman clearly rammed teenager who had been saving parking space, police say
Last week, we brought you the story of a confrontation between a Georgia school board member and teenager in a Walmart parking lot.
The teenager had been saving a parking space for a friend. Angela Cornett, an SUV-driving member of a local school board, objected. The teen said Cornett hit her with her SUV. Cornett said the teen purposely jumped into the side of the car.
Now we know who's telling the truth.
Bartow County Sheriff's Office investigators have released video footage from a store security camera that captured the incident. It clearly shows the SUV plowing into the teenager, Emily Gulledge, and then into the parking spot.
"You can't tell close up how she was struck or exactly how hard she was struck," Sgt. Jonathan Rogers tells 11 Alive News. "But youc an see that she was standing there when the vehicle lurched forward and had to move out of the way quickly."
Cornett faces a reckless conduct charge, and more charges could be forthcoming. Gulledge was not seriously hurt in the incident.
