A Chinese automotive site has snagged the first spy shots of the updated Volvo XC60, completely uncovered. While the overall profile of the vehicle remains intact, the headlights are heavily revised. Gone are the two-piece units, which featured the separate light strip between the main cluster and the grille. In place now are larger lenses, somewhat reminiscent of those found on the S60 sedan. Also updated is the grille, which gets a little wider to meet the new headlights. The grille receives more chrome, while the lower front fascia has been revised with wider openings. A pair of LED fog lights are pushed way out to the corners.

Out back, the license plate holder gets a bold chrome strip above it, and the recessed exhaust is replaced with chromed, dual exhaust outlets that have been integrated into the bottom of the rear bumper.

Inside, the instrument panel has been revised, with a large, centrally mounted speedo, featuring a digital display in the center. According to reports, this is a similar setup to that of the new V40. As such, it appears that the changes are thoughtful efforts to move the XC60 forward by incorporating the most current Volvo design elements.

I'd LOVE to know when Volvo is going to finally update/replace the XC90. That thing is ancient!

I prefer the older one. In general, most of the facelifts turn the original model to worse in my opinion :(

not sure whats worse, seeing a beloved brand go under (ie saab) or watching one get taken over by another company and becoming a shell of its former self (volvo..... and saab come to think of it)

I hope Volvo also upgrades the navi / infotainment system. This is the biggest area in which the S60 and XC60 lag behind their respective competition.

Be honest without reading the headline or article who saw the picture and the Chinese characters and thought this was going to be about another knock off vehicle.

Volvo will soon be the next SAAB if they keep designing cars like that.

It's really the same car everyone, so don't get your panties in a bunch. The headlight / fog light changes were overdue not least because there was some supposed structural reason (having to do with the steering assembly) that the current XC60 and S60 don't have front fog lights (ridiculously odd or a European car in general and specially one that has a *rear* fog light. So they added much needed lighting changes, and the large center speedo looks fine, and adds some boldness to the driver view. What's wrong with that? Never mind. I'm sure someone will find problems with it.....

My wife has an XC60 and can't remember if it has fog lights or not! I guess it's never foggy here.
