The 2014 Jaguar XFR-S might have only been good enough to take the runner-up spot in our Editor's Choice top five debuts at the LA Auto Show, but we'd be hard-pressed to find a car with a more exhilarating exhaust note. As proof of this, Jaguar released a video showing the XFR-S tearing up a windy, European mountain road in close to a minute of hardcore driving footage.

The big blue cat has the same great exhaust note of the XKR-S, and the driver puts all of the car's 550 horsepower to work demonstrating the handling – and drifting – abilities of the new XFR-S. If there's any disappointment to be had, it's the fact that you have to jump to the 30-second mark of the video for any of the action to start.

Scroll down to watch the video, and be sure your speakers are turned all the way up.

Look you guys, if you don't like all the big flash sporty stuff, go down a notch the XFR, don't like that get a plain old XF. Point is Jag are building this as a niche car and it will have a limited appeal. As for looking like the inside of an American SUV, has this guy even sat in one? Keep comments about what you know and what is real. As for the exhaust note...no this is not made up...I can personally attest to this, and in real life (from inside the car) it sounds even better.

In that blue and with that spoiler, it's a little too loud for my tastes, but I love that they're building this car and the overall direction Jaguar has been heading. The motor sounds great.

Green Peace would hunt me down if I owned one of these. I'd average 7 mpg daily just to hear that exhaust note.

It's very similar to the XKR-S. Which sounds even better in person. Yes, I have heard it. So if that provides any indication, then I would bet my current Jags that Dvanos is dead wrong.

I do too, but many times when you buy a car from a commercial that has sounds like this it rarely sounds like it in real life.Unless you stick in your head in the engine bay during redline.

Whether or not you like the exhaust tone, at least it is genuine, real, and raw. As in eminating from the actual engine exhaust system, and not a fake poser sound synthesized through the stereo system like a certain German competitor. I was so dissappointed when I heard that about the new M5. Oops, there, I said it, didn't I?

Having driven the XKR, XFR, and XKR-S, I'm very glad they're building this car. I enjoy driving the XFR far more than the XKR - something about just feels a little tighter but I still wish it were more raw - like the XKR-S. This thing is just a beautiful blend of everything you could want in a car.

I agree with you! Not keen on the wing, but it seems like it has a ton more soul and personality than any of the German Big Three. I'll have mine in white with silver wheels, please
