The team at Turn 10 has rolled out the first expansion pack for its Forza: Horizon driving game. The December IGN Car Pack features seven all new cars ranging from the lusty 2012 Ferrari F12 Berlinetta and the 2012 Aston Martni DBS to a 1971 AMC Javelin AMX. The pack even boasts a few toys for the off-road minded, including a Halo-themed Ford F-150 SVT Raptor and a Hummer H1 Alpha Open Top. Those are fun and all, but we're just as intrigued by the prospect of getting our virtual hands on the 2006 Ford GTX1.

That's the machine built on the bones of the legendary Ford GT but with a body by Mark Gerish of Genaddi Design. Think of it as what would happen if the good parts of SEMA got spilled on a GT. But, we'd be lying if we said the star of the December pack was anything other than the McLaren F1 shown above. That car's still the stuff of teenage fantasies all these years later, and you can whip it around the virtual hills and valleys of Colorado. Check out the teaser video below for a look at the full pack, and look for it to go live on December 4.

I love Forza, but am getting sick of having to pay over and over for cars i've already owned/purchased in previous games. Getting a bit stale.

For me, the fact that there's no tuning of vehicles in Horizon really saps a lot of the appeal out of car packs for this game. . I'll wait and see what the Rally Pack contains...if anything, I might be tempted to spring for that

They ruined the Forza brand with the arcadey feel of Horzon :(

Horizon is supposed to be more arcadey . The driving is better than the other open world racing games out there.

Car packs were good expansions for the sim-like Forza 4, but I would not buy DLC for Horizon.

Unless it actually adds something to the open-world gaming experience, like new story elements or environments.

I thought everyone was over reacting....but I got my copy yesterday. It's okay, but I expected more from the people who did Forza 4. I had hoped that Horizon was F4 in an open world...it's not. Not at all. Not to say it isn't fun. I'm having fun, but I wish the driving physics were less Sega Rally and more Forza 4.

Turn 10 may have helped make Horizon but Playground Games did most of the work . .

i totally sucked at the O.G. Forza. i played the demos and no matter how bad i wanted to buy it i just couldn't do it. the driving physics were really too difficult for me to handle as a casual gamer. forza horizon i was able to ease into it. i am learning to play with the cars and notice how different each car reacts to the different terrains. its a forgiving game and doesn't frustrate me much. its a great game for newbys. i feel that when i complete this game i will be able to have a fighting chance in the "real" Forza. i am having so much fun driving the **** of so many cars in the open world. so i can see how extreme gamers would be bored by it.

Being a hardcore O.G. Forza player, I have a lot of friends that also fall into your boat. When I have them over, I just keep turning more and more driving aids on until they feel comfortable with playing the game. Have you tried turning all aids on, and then eliminating or turning them down little by little?
