It's not the fault of Honda that Christmas-themed advertising now comes before Thanksgiving. But if it's going to be that way, we can at least thank Honda for giving us the cringe-worthy but we-know-it-all-too-well hovering mother celebrating the technology in the new Honda Pilot.

The commercial will make you consider avoiding dear Mama for a while if you put a Pilot in the driveway. You should definitely avoid the green jello, no matter what. You can watch the ad below.

Moral: if you're relatively young and you buy this ugly pug of an SUV, it will permanently cockblock you.

I always wanted to be a mama's boy....I should buy a Honda... I might however decide on a more masculine SUV, or a nice sports sedan or coupe...something that Honda doesn't build for North America...

Too bad you don't consider the TL with SH-AWD and 6speed manual to be a sports sedan. Or even a cheaper Civic Si sedan.

this doesn't make me want to buy a Honda. honestly, who thought this ad was a good idea?

First the guy looks single then his mama choose for him the ugly non sense pilot Second he only get the ugly asian woman next to him Third the ugly asian left him for another guy with a BRZ ! Banzai !!!

Typical North American commercial. Why would a young single man buy an 8 passenger SUV???? Just doesn't make sense to me. He doesn't even live on a farm!

I think as a male with functioning testicles, I've just been convinced to never touch a Honda product ever in my entire life... o_o

AGREED. That's just as true when it's been re-badged as an Acura. What guy would do that to himself?

Honda's not doing a great job of marketing to women. Bad enough about the Honda Fit She's (see my blog but this is Stateside. What's next? Wincing in anticipation.

Shut up! Some women actually like the Fit She's. Problem with Feminazis is that they don't respect all women, only the militant butches. Some women like to be girly, there's nothing wrong with that. So why not have products for them?

Honda just further dug itself a hole where no auto enthusiasts want to go in... what's gotten into Honda?? they want to be the leader of beige car??? of people who have no interests in driving?? Did they feel that Toyota was no longer fit in doing appliances? I dont understand??

Furthermore, Toyota has learned and is coming out with cars like the GT-86, and the MR2 and Supra in the near future. What an amazing concept. They can make transportation appliances for the masses but still offer a few fun cars in their lineup. Honda should take note.
