In two short weeks, the six finalists for the first-ever AOL Autos Technology Of The Year award will be named during an event at the Los Angeles Auto Show on Nov. 28. In the meantime, here's a glimpse of the hardware the winner will be receiving.

AOL Autos invited a group of students from the College for Creative Studies in Detroit to design a trophy that captured the spirit of both the auto industry and the connectivity carmakers are pouring into vehicles. Brenna Dunn, a student at CCS, came up with the winning design. She explains her thoughts behind the trophy – and what it means to win – in the video above.

"It means a lot to be part of something a little bit bigger than yourself," she said. "I'm young. This means a lot."

Her trophy will be presented to the Technology Of The Year winner during the 2013 Consumer Electronics Show between Jan. 8 and 11.
