If the newly improved 2013 Lexus LS is aimed at taking on the Mercedes-Benz S-Class, then it sounds like Lexus might have a new model in mind to take on the monstrous Toyota Motorsport GmbH (TMG) which could become a factory tuner arm for Toyota like AMG, and the report says that the car will make its debut at the Essen Motor Show in December.

The car that will be called the TMG Lexus LS 650, but for now, it's only a "feasibility study" designed to gauge interest from customers and the media. We were already interested looking at the widebody version of the LS with massive front air intakes and hood vents, but the article in Motor Authority got our ears perked up a little more with vehicle specs that include a twin-turbocharged 5.0-liter V8 laying down more than 600 horsepower giving the big bruiser a top speed near 200 miles per hour.

"it's only a "feasibility study" designed to gauge interest from customers and the media" There's interest, build a few. 600HP and a 199MPH top speed sound pretty awesome to me. When Toyota REALLY puts its best engineers on a project, they can put out some amazing products.

all the comments on here are taking the test mule too seriously. This by no means would be the final design, instead it's everything required according to function. Let 5Axis get ahold of this, and they could churn out an amazing final piece.

Yes, it used to be the Toyota F1 team located in Köln, but they are now doing speciality cars for Toyota and the LeMans cars.

A lot of you are very misinformed and think this is the final design. It isn't. This is simply a test mule that was developed in 2011 and on the verge of being approved for production by March. If you haven't realized it, the reason the 2013 Lexus LS was face-lifted with a "spindle-grille" is, because it's a placeholder due to the final design for NEXT-generation model being frozen recently and still having 18+/- months of development left. Prototypes will likely start testing in Japan in several months, as mules are very soon to be. This TMG-tuned LS if approved, shouldn't be expected before the 2016 model year.

The car looks like what would happen if your "ghetto neighbors" won the lottery.

Fairly ugly.. Lexus could have just kept the classy looks of the LS. Looks like someone from Pontiac styled this car! I just hope the production car doesn't look this boy racerish!
