The 2013 Ford Fusion is a seriously pretty car, and every time we see one, we can't help but notice the styling influence from brands like Jaguar and Aston Martin. That said, the modified Fusions that Ford brought to this year's SEMA Show don't enhance the already attractive midsize sedan. In fact, to our eyes, it's quite the contrary.

Case in point: The Tjin Edition Fusion above. When we got our first glimpse at the beige show car in teaser form, it wasn't wearing these oversized wheels, and that ridiculous front lip wasn't in place. If we're honest, it just ain't pretty. That said, we certainly won't complain about the upgraded 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine found underhood or the MagnaFlow exhaust system out back.

Elsewhere on stage the 3DCarbon Fusion takes a rather pretty black-and-white color scheme and adds some visual aggressive flare (again with an oversized front lip), the MRT Performance car is a slammed-down black-and-blue brute, and the Ice Nine Group has incorporated a matte-and-green Monster paint job to the Blue Oval baby.

Beauty is indeed in the eye of the beholder, so have a scroll through our attached image gallery and let us know in the comments if any of these Fusions get your motor runnin'.

Calling these out seems silly considering the venue. The car in the picture used for the article is 10x better looking than half of the stuff which is displayed at SEMA. If the lip was a little less aggressive and the "exhaust" removed, it would be tasteful by SEMA standards.

Has SEMA ever made a nice looking car look better?

@Makings11s Actually once. I saw a 96 ish Mustang Saleen S351R in person at a show and the deep red paint was so incredible I was in awe. It was truly stunning at the time. For me to remember the moment 16 years later and still feel that "wow" factor, something had to look better.

I dunno, it's not that bad. I wouldn't put the kit on my car, but it is SEMA afterall.

Actually it looks great, other then that side exhaust sticker in the back, or if its real...cant tell. The wheels are just the right size, its not practical but fits nicely in the oversized wheel wells which is one of the biggest faux pas designers make. The rear deck is also much too high for such a sleek design, so filling out the wheel wells makes it more proportional to the rest of the car. Very nice design overall, too bad its got the tupperware interior co designed by Rubbermaid.

i was just gonna say if i want this ill read jalopnick autoblog is slowly going to #$%$. Its SEMA its not miss America. People put a lot of "love" (if you could call it that) into cars there more than you do as writer Stephen. SEMA is more or less mod shopping at a car you may select mod 1 of 20. IE: i don't like the suicide doors, and disco globe. but i do like the front lip. But as i pass this article in the blog sphere that is "news" i see nothing i want. Now resume autoblog programing and post a SHOCKING Russian traffic youtube video.

Give the headlights back to Mitsubishi and the grille back to Aston.
