Save some unforeseen circumstance we've yet to encounter, you'll never hear us turn down shoving extra horsepower at a vehicle. The minds at G-Power seem to understand that concept better than most and have just finished pumping a full 600 horsepower into the BMW 1 Series M Coupe. The team is calling their newest creation the G1 Hurricane RS, and the car makes use of a supercharged version of the same V8 that powers the BMW M3. Likewise, the tuner's engineers plucked the dual-clutch gearbox from the larger M for service in the G1 Hurricane.

With 427 pound feet of torque on hand, the smallest of the G-Power line can bolt to 125 miles per hour in around 12.7 seconds on its way to a top end of 205 mph. The company threw in a set of carbon ceramic brakes to help bring the wicked 1 Series down from speed, which also helped reduce unsprung weight by half. Further weight reductions come in the form of a carbon fiber hood and trunk lid. G-Power plans to build just 30 examples of its wild little 1 Series M Coupe, so if you want one, you better get on the phone now. Head over to the G-Power site fore more information.

      I wish BMW would have done this car, I mean why not put the M3 engine in an 1 series, or better yet put the new M5 engine in the new M3 at least as an option.

      Absolutely gorgeous, wish BMW would have offered more cars for sale and more colors on their 1M, because this looks fantastic.

      A supercharged V8 and they're only able to get 430 lb-ft out of it? Weak. And a 12.7 in the quarter with a 600 hp car? A dead stock Mustang GT is that quick in the right hands, to say nothing of the 11's one with $2000 worth of mods will pull. That is a ton of work and expense for numbers that disappointing.

        Ah, nevermind, re-read and 12.7 is to 125, not in the quarter. It makes more sense now.

          12.7 to 125mph doesn't make it sound any better. Your thoughts aren't far off. The overweight showroom stock gt500 runs to 11.6@125mph. In another words, this tuned m1 is pathetic at putting the power to the ground. Listing the mph only is just a trick to make you think it's quicker than it really is. Powerful? Yes But what good is power if all it does is turn into tire smoke. Great way to get outrun by lesser vehicles.

          It is a bit sad, I am guessing it just is way too much power to get to the ground because the stock 1M runs 12.8 all day long around 110-112 mph - trap speed is really high for a 12.7 run, so looks like it spun a lot. Lightly tuned stock motors are faster and probably 20 grand cheaper!

          You know what is even more sad. That the more powerful gt500 will not do 200mph with 600wheel hp. BMW doesnt make drag cars and this car has basically zero side wall.

        430lbft, but remember that the M3V8 is actually small: 4L is barely bigger than most V6s and it makes less than 300lbft stock. And it's not 12.7 quarter, probably closer to 12 dead.

          Yeah, but my XJR is a supercharged 4.0L V8 as well, and it makes 390 lb-ft dead stock. As soon as I put a pulley and tune on it I'll be making more than the 430 lb-ft this makes with less than $1000 in mods. It just seems like a really low number. I know a lot of that is the S65 being so oversquare, so torque production isn't it's focus. But still, low numbers.

        you cant compare drag strip (extrem grip) acceleration numbers with europen accleration numbers taken on more or less clean to dusty tarmac... on a drag strip this car will for sure do better numbers... the different between this and a GT500... wait till the braking zone for the first turn... and the turn... and it will become even more different if you do this again and a again on a race track... this car is no go forward only musckle car like the GT500

      Wait... GPower is going to remove the stock engine of THIRTY 1Ms? Or am I missing something? There are only 6,000 of these...

        Honestly, I thought there were only 500 1Ms, or was that only 500 in USA?

          Interesting... I've only seen two of these on the road, ever. One was orange and being driven by an older lady. (I always get a kick out of seeing performance models being driven by women -- especially if its a car that is only available with a manual, like mazdaspeed3, gt500, etc.). Even there are way more Boss 302s made, I've never seen one on the road. I'm glad the 1m owners are out there driving and enjoying them.

      Why do they keep calling this thing a 1M, it's not even a converted 135i? It still has the front foglight switch, 135i's and 1M's didn't have front fogs and the big thing, a sunroof, which no 1M has. It's just another 1 series build with an engine swap.

        @Nate
        Well, if it is a 135i, it's more than an engine swap. It has the rear end-wider track of the M, has the entire body kit, suspension to handle 20" wheels. Not to mention interior work. So if indeed, this is a 135i, it's now faster than an M1 and you get a sunroof as a bonus ;)

      205 with this pip-squeak wheelbase would be hairy. I like the toned-down bronze color for such a capable car.
