According to Cars UK, the next-generation Infiniti G37 sedan will likely debut at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show next January. We recently spied working prototypes of the new Infiniti out testing, and despite being slathered in camouflage, we have a good idea of how the company's new BMW 3 Series rival will look. Sort of.

The new G will indeed have a more rakish, curvy body, taking many of its cues from the stunning Emerg-E concept that first debuted at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show. We can clearly see LED lighting up front, as well as some new lighting elements adhered to the car's rump, as well.

Currently, the only engine offered in the G range is the 3.7-liter naturally aspirated V6, but that's expected to change. Earlier reports have suggested that a wide range of new engines could be fitted under the G's hood, including a diesel powerplant that comes as part of Renault-Nissan's partnership with Daimler. A turbocharged engine and hybrid model could be in the works, as well.

We'll likely have more details after the turn of the year, if not sooner. Stay tuned.

      This segment is finally heating back up: New 3-Series, new C-Class and IS (within a year), this G37 and the ATS. Can't wait to see the comparisons. Oh I forgot about Jaguar's rumored X-Type replacement. Should be some good stuff.

        Yep love me some sports sedan's loving that the segment is getting so much attention.

      Hopefully it gets the 3.0 turbo engine that has been rumored, and looses ~300 pounds. It will have to in order to keep up with the new 3 series and ATS.

        pretty sure any turbo that appears will be a 4cyl....

      I just don't think Autoblog is giving me the Nissan coverage I need with only 5 Nissan stories today. Com'on guys, you can do better!
        • 2 Years Ago
        WHAT?? Do you want them to ignore news when too much of it relates to a common car company or do you just not like Nissan? Who gives a **** about another special edition Bugatti??

        Wow... Perhaps Walt has a sense of humor that you two a clearly lacking.

      Make it light. 300hp 30+mpg and rear wheel drive for 30K and no one will care what it looks like! You won't keep them on the shelves!!

      "Currently, the only engine offered in the G range is the 3.7-liter naturally aspirated V6" O RLY? So what exactly are they putting under the hood of the G25s?
        • 2 Years Ago
        @Mike McDermott

      The Infiniti G coupe is gorgeous and the sedan is hideous. Hopefully they have fixed this now.

        @Jonathan Wayne
        Look at the 2011 Limited Edition G37S sedan with the red interior. look even closer to the front end of that car or any G sedan after 2010 with the sport package and aero lip spoiler. You've got to be kidding me to say that is a hideous car. It might not be your favorite but it looks hella sexy. Like the coupe, but more aggressive with the lower spoiler added. The next G has some big shoes to fill.

      Sigh yet another overpriced rebadged altima snooze mobile.

      I'd love to see a turbo diesel in the new model. Updated styling, generous torque for stop and go and great mileage on the highway. Yes please.
        • 2 Years Ago
        They're going to be using a diesel from Mercedes for the new G
