Mon dieu!

Toyota says it will sell 10,000 Yaris Hybrids in France after reporting a 46-percent jump in hybrid sales in the country, Technologic Vehicles reports, citing an interview with Toyota France CEO Pascal Ruch. Such sales volume would be about double what Toyota forecast for the Yaris Hybrid for this year.

Earlier this year, Toyota debuted the Yaris Hybrid at the Geneva Motor Show. The model, which has about 100 horsepower, delivers fuel economy of about 67 miles per gallon – on the slightly more lenient European driving cycle, at least.

In the US, Toyota has doubled hybrid sales through September compared to 2011 to almost 248,000 units. More than two-thirds of those are variants of the Prius.

What's the difference between a Yaris hybrid and a Prius C?

about 4 inches. (length-wise, Prius C is a bit longer, probably a bit more aero, and a bit more expensive)

French made Toyota Yaris is doing very well at the moment in Europe in broke in to Europe's top 10 best selling cars with 17,993 sales at the No10 spot for the first time ever last month with sales up +69% in September so hybrid sales of just +46 is piss poor in comparison to the popular little mainly diesel Yaris that makes up nearly all the Yaris sales in Europe.

Driving a current model of the Yaris was less awful than I thought. It could use a bit of a boost in power, and a hybrid system could add that. The single wiper on the car, however, really is weird. It works well, but... weird!

So the HSD Yaris is what you get when the Prius C is too big? All kidding aside, this should do very well, as should a HSD iQ.

Sound a bit distorted news from Toyota. TOYOTA FRANCE is the the world production line location for the manufacture of Toyota Yaris. France makes the Toyota Yaris for the World market, Yaris is Toyota's best selling car in France. About the Yaris Hybrid, it exceeds expectations and "PRODUCTION volumes" have been increased, over the year, Toyota "ESTIMATED" volumes of 4000 to 5000. but already records more than 6000 orders and now plans to sell 10,000 units in 2012. http://www.technologicvehicles.com/en/green-transportation-news/2093/toyota-france-will-sell-10000-yaris-hybrid-in

If you have every looked under the hood if an iQ there is not enough room for the HSD system. Plus the can doesn't need it.
