Drama, suspense, romance, horror – just about everything you might want from a great big-budget flick has been packed into this minute-long masterpiece from Smart (or its ad agency, anyway).

Smart has been pushing its 2013 ForTwo fairly aggressively over recent weeks, debuting new series of commercials aimed at changing minds about the diminutive two-seater. This spot for the upcoming ForTwo Electric Drive is no different, but it may just be the best of the bunch.

Watch
all the way through – it's worth it.

very funny but a better ad would've included specs or driving shots (or sounds) and a middle finger to other gas burners.

Electric cars are awesome! I managed to build my own (well actually it was my dad) and it's great. I save so much money it's unbelievable. This site - http://green-energy-at-home.com/wp/build-your-own-electric-car tells you how to do it.

I call BS. Looks like someone is making more money by selling 'How to Build and Electric Car'.

It's better than the Volt's Superbowl alien ad.

"With the tax credit figured in, the starting price works out to $17,500" Maybe I am missing something but you can't just subtract the tax credit from the sticker at the time of purchase. It reduces the amount of taxable income when you do your taxes, it has nothing to do with the sticker price, right?

Yes, you are correct. But you can do things to compensate. For example, if you get a paycheck then call up accounting and tell them to increase the number of your exemptions to some big number such that your federal tax withholding goes way down. Boom, fatten your paycheck immediately.

Only half correct. A tax _credit_ is a straight up reduction of your taxes by the stated amount. A tax _deduction_ is what he's thinking of that just reduces your taxable income (so in my case they're only worth about a third of the value of the deduction). I believe in this case it would be the former. However, it is true that you have to have the money up front and then get refunded when you do your taxes.
