A road-rage altercation between two motorcyclists and a man driving a car north of Minneapolis ended with one man shot in the face. Police in Isanti, Minn. quickly apprehended a suspect – because the shooting took place in the police department parking lot.

Authorities have not released many details on the incident, which began Saturday on State Highway 65. A witness called the Isanti Police at 4:05 p.m. to tell them about a fight in the station's parking lot.

While officers were leaving the station to investigate, they heard a single gunshot and found the victim on the ground. Charges have not yet been filed against the alleged gunman. They are expected this week.

AOL Autos Tips On How To Respond To Road Rage:

--If someone is shaking their fist and making threatening gestures, the best move you can make is pull over and let them get away from you, or turn off of your route to get away from the other car. The best way to avoid a fight is to leave it before it starts.

-If someone has left their vehicle and is confronting you on foot outside of your car, get your doors locked. Calm yourself and turn away. If you have your phone, dial 911 and let the responder know that the police are coming.

-Do not retaliate against a road rage instigator. You have no idea whether the person has a weapon. Be smart. Try to leave the area of the instigator as quickly and safely as possible.

Most suburban moms who buys cars obviously not intended for them are the worst possible people alive. They're a danger to everybody around them and they go careening down busy streets, too busy to look up from their cell phones, to realize how much danger they're putting everybody else in. People like Janka51 are the reason why they justify abortion. I'd rather take a million safe driving motorcyclists over these derpy nitwits anyday. At least they'll look both ways before plowing into a group of pedestrians.

LOL, and the cops had to be called to alert them that there was a fight in thier own parking lot??!! When they finally get off thier fat, lazy, dontut chomping butts to go see what is going on, they hear a shot; and a guy is DOA. WOW, Your tax dollars at work! The guy obviously ran to the safest place he could think of, the PD; and they were so lame they let him get killed in thier own parking lot! Cops are a joke, these laws are a joke, most of these retarded posts are jokes (especially the ones about bikers being scum, etc); and the people of this country need to take control of thier own safety and wellbeing from now on. This is proof positive a cop is a waste of YOU'RE life.

#1 if confronted with an armed intruder and no way out execise your concealed carry permit and let him have it. As seen a cop will not protect you even in there own parking lot!

"If someone has left their vehicle and is confronting you on foot outside of your car, get your doors locked. Calm yourself and turn away. Ummmm..........I would think that the "responder" (above) is either the police dispatcher or the actual police officer...

Corrine, why didn't you just move to another parking space.....Think about your concequences if you did pull the trigger...possibly miss and hit an innocent child??? you also would have been arrested for discharging a firearm within city limits....is it really worth it to prove you have the right to STAND YOUR GROUND?

Sorry but I don't play the road rage game. If you get out of your car and come at me ...or if you make threatening moves with your car towards mine you WILL pay the price. If it takes shooting you dead...so be it. Just know that you are not going to threaten me or make threatening gesters towards me and have me just cower in fear. I will be fearful...fearful of my life if you make those moves towards me...and THAT my non-friend gives me the LEAGAL right to end your stupid life.

It happened at least two days ago, and nothing definitive. No names, no who shot whom, no reasons, no nothing. No journalistic follow up. Only same Huffpost.

So, tell me again: why a conceal and carry law is a good idea?
        @Janice
So you can defend yourself against someone who flips their lid and tries to shoot you.

The shooter had a gun. are you saying a conceal and carry law would stop HIM from shooting?

Well, you'd rather have a gun in your hand than just your d*ck . . .. Wait, you don't have a choice. Get a gun and go watch The Godfather again.

Road rage doesn't happen just because someone wants to harass another driver. The victim is usually at fault for doing something careless, such as pulling out in front of a motorcyclist rather than letting them pass before merging. It's usually after being put in danger that a motorist decides to "get even". Maybe we should start teaching people to not be such careless, inattentive, or just plain stupid drivers in the first place...such as when someone decides to go 10mph UNDER the speed limit and then gets upset when people cut around them or when a driver decides to make a sudden turn without using turn signals. It's situations like that that cause road rage.

Agreed, idiot drivers usually create their own problems by driving too slow in the fast lane, cutting off others, or not using turn signals.

Can you honestly say you have never done anything that would make someone else angry? I know I have accidentally cut someone off before not seeing them in my blind spot and I know I get mad if someone does it to me, but that's all I do. I don't speed up to show them how angry I am or cut in front of them. Yes, everyone should be more aware when they are driving, but you have to be conscious of other people on the road because there will never be a time that no one is distracted. Everyone is going to make a mistake one day, hopefully it doesn't cause an accident. Changing lanes quickly, slamming on brakes, taking your eyes off of the road to flick the other person off all cause just as many problems as the original transgression. People have to get their emotions under control and learn to think before they act. The old saying "Two wrongs don't make a right" holds true to this.

99% of all road rage is caused by the victim. I know that is not politically correct, but it's true. Some idiot breaks one or both of these laws....Obstructing traffic or Failure to yield the right of way. SPEED LIMIT is usually not mentioned in these laws. The problem with correcting road rage is more idiots, called bureaucrats. They try to legislate against human nature (getting mad), instead of getting people to obey the rules of the road.

Smoking some unusually good weed today? Say that again... "99% of all road rage is caused by the victim"?? Can you go ahead and shoot us a link or some facts from a verifiable source, Waltie?

An you know these statistics how? The perpetrator is always going to blame the victim and if the victim is incapacitated or no longer around to give their side of the story then how would anyone know what really happened. Even if there are witnesses they still may not know who started it. In my experiences road rage stems from one or both parties legislating their views upon one another on how to drive and either being in a hurry, a bad mood already, or a need to control someone.

I do not believe what you say is true. I believe that self important people cause most of these incidents believing they can cut through traffic drive any speed be as aggressive as they want and everyone should give them the right of way. Getting to your location safely is always better than getting there fast.

How can you hold a victim responsible for someone else's emotional response? That makes it sound as if road rage is a justifiable reaction. It isn't. YOU control your emotions. No one else. YOU are responsible for how you react in any given situation. No one else. If someone pulls out in front of you, cuts you off, doesn't yield, is tailgating, etc. you can make a choice in regards to your reaction. They can't MAKE you do anything. They can't CAUSE you to feel anything. It's all up to you. Saying the victim causes road rage is like saying an abusive husband's wife made him hit her.
