It's been almost a year since we last heard about the Porsche Design Tower just north of Miami Beach in Sunny Isles, Fla., and while construction of the building apparently hasn't even started yet, we get another look at the luxury apartment building thanks to a segment on Rock Center with Brian Williams.

The allure of this 57-story skyscraper is its glass-encased car elevator, which is shown in the video as an animation. This certainly won't be the first luxury residence featuring a car elevator with en suite parking, but it will be the first to allow the driver to ride along with the car as it travels from the ground floor to the specific unit and vice versa. When parked in the apartment, the car becomes one of the unit's many focal points as it is visible behind a glass wall.

In addition to the car elevators, the Porsche Design Tower will have everything expected of a Miami Beach-area dwelling with a Collins Ave address. Each of the 132 oversized suites has a balcony swimming pool, and prices are expected to be up to $9 million per unit.

Scroll down to watch the video.

Can you read? I am talking about the German manufacture which produce cars, not the Austria based company which produce watches and sunglasses. Are you aware that Porsches (cars) are designed by Porsche Design?

Can someone explain, how the Brazilians mentioned are getting their millions and millions of dollars in order to live in these condos?

Obviously you haven't been to Brazil. Dodging taxes is the real national sport. We had only one employee in Brazil and we paid him by making deposits into his US bank account. Taxes? What taxes?

Great article, thank you for posting. Advanced Home Theater(AHT) is proud to be part of this great project. One of the features found most interesting by incoming Porsche Design Tower is the automation system powered by AHT (www.ahtflorida.com); a company that prides itself in finding the latest in high-end technology for its’ clients.
