Please re-record this podcast. Audio quality makes this unlistenable.

Yeah, we know the audio quality is kind of rough. The last time this happened was when we had the Top Gear guys on. The common denominator seems to be calling phones with Skype. -Dan

I could not hear Zack. But it was great having Chris Shunk back on the podcast. His good-natured, self-effacing humor adds so much to enjoyment of the show. Any car writer can talk about cars, only Shunk can be Shunk. Either clone him, or invite him back regularly.

Is there a transcript to this somewhere? The audio is unbearable, but I don't want to miss the 300th.

Type your commToday, I’ve been able to log in, but unable to post a comment on either Podcast 300 or 301. Re Podcast 301: You guys really should make it a rule to avoid the topic of stocks and investments. The discussion of the US stake in GM was long, and about the worst-informed ever on Autoblog. Dang, I was looking forward to this one. Unfortunately, after it became apparent that a Cylon from Battlestar Galactica was modifying a Miata to destroy all humankind, I had to go hide in my basement.

if you think that's hilarious, you should go listen to the version that's up on UStream - the live recording. Just after we talk about what's in the garage, apparently the sampling rate of the recording switched, and everything is at half speed. Sooooo...not only is the sound quality a little lower than normal (Zach on cellphone is rough, for sure, but the rest of the cast isn't terrible, just not as good as normal), but I had to spend some time in the editing process pitch-shifting most of the recording by 2:1. -Dan

Agree with the comments here. Audio was awful, which was a real shame, because this one was a good one. Last week's audio wasn't that great either - particularly Dan's audio...

I don't know if I'm the only one having this problem, but the last 3 podcasts haven't been downloadable from iTunes. I keep getting a 'retry' message, but retrying does nothing but lead to another retry message. All previous episodes downloaded without a hitch - just the last three have glitched out - and only Autoblog seems to have this issue, as all other podcasts I routinely download (about 4 or 5 each week) have been fine. Given this new problem, I think someone should look into what's happening to the files. Perhaps there's a bigger encoding problem going on which is corrupting them. Maybe contact the iTunes people too, just to be sure there isn't something going on at their end.
