Sergio Marchionne, CEO of Fiat, Ferrari owner, and (we assume) fabulously rich guy, has an amazing lineup of vehicles he can drive. From his company's lineup, he could be driving a new SRT Viper, or a Ferrari FF or probably even a Maserati Kubang. Well, maybe not the Kubang.

But SRT CEO Ralph Gilles, on his Twitter feed, just outed Marchionne as a weekend Challenger SRT8 driver. Black, of course. No indication on modifications, but given a shot at being CEO of Fiat for a day, we'd definitely order our Challenger with at least a 600-hp Viper V10 and put a check in the rear seat delete box. Then we'd head out to the local drag strip and embarrass some wannabe speed demons.

Not hard to figure out why we none of us have been granted CEO status of a major automaker, huh?

Does it look lowered to others as well?

It looks lowered and possibly 22" wheels as well. Even 20"'s have trouble filling up those wheel wells..

Agree... You'd figure if he's tossing on 22s he'd pop for some wider meat, instead of wagon wheels.

Eh SRT-8 challengers aren't that great or that fast. Very over rated. He just drives it because he can.

Don't get me wrong, they a good looking cars, but when SRT is put on them people think they are bad ass. When really they are still just a challenger that has a hard time competing with its competitors.

Owner here... I don't "compete" with anybody. I don't give a crap if car X or Y is faster off the line, or has a higher top speed than 185. BUT... it is bad ass - there's really no two ways about that. If you don't think so, that's ok too! Believe me though, your probably in the minority there bub.

Over-rated?! Since when? I'd say that since just about everyone seems to put them solidly in third place BEHIND the Mustang and Camaro, if anything they might be considered UNDER-rated. IMO, even though they may not be the absolute quickest, and therefore relegated to the level of near uselessness by the bench-racing crowd, I think they are by far the best looking, and the one I would most likey end up buying, if ever I were to part with my Terminator.

Are you serious? The Challenger SRT 8 is an outstanding car and very highly rated. Fast enough for most and fast enough for the thousands of Challenger buyers each month. He drives it because he's a very smart guy and he knows whats good and whats not. CHALLENGER GOOD---IMPULSE BAD !!

Because he is a fan of well-executed design, no doubt.

Cant say I'm really surprised. The Ferrari & Maserati scream look at me, I'm rich. Like pretty much every other CEO. The Viper screams look at me, I'm the first to have it. Like pretty much every other CEO. The murdered out SRT8 Challenger says. You have no idea what I do, but atleast you know I'm a badazz. At the end of the day, I can imagine anybody with a set of balls between their legs.. wants to feel like a mysterious badazz. Its the same reason black Harleys are cool. Black leather jackets are cool. Black sunglasses are cool. Black tint on your car is cool. Hell even why Darth Vader is cool. Darth Vader in any other colour, like rosso (Italian Racing Red) wouldnt be nearly as intimidating. The Challenger also makes for a great daily driver with extra comfortable seating & large interior. If I had a few million in the bank, a triple black SRT8 would still be high on my list!

I saw Sergio shopping at a Costco near my (and his) house in Bloomfield Hills, MI in April. He was driving a black Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT-8. Don't have a picture of the car, but here is a pic of Sergio and his wife walking to their car.. Hope the link works -> https://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-prn1/s720x720/564005_579769979689_1413858749_n.jpg

MF, If you did take the picture why couldn't you wait to for him to get to his car so we all could see it.

The car is wrong in so many ways and it still makes you smile every time you drive it.

Good choice, and the Challenger would really stand out among the crowd on European roads. I'll bet he chooses one of his tiny Fiat's for navigating the narrow oxcart streets of pretty much any Italian city however.. In any case, the Challenger would make a great DD, but I would still use a Ferrari 458 for weekend blasts..

Wise Choice. I remember when before the Challenger was introduced one of the major auto mags drove one across Italy. The Italians went crazy for this design. They loved it. Can't blame them.
