Someone didn't get a very good deal (Credit: Shabotski,... Someone didn't get a very good deal (Credit: Shabotski, Reddit/Imgur).

A user by the name of Shabotski on the popular website Reddit.com shared a classic picture of a driver taking revenge on what seems to be a very shady car dealer.

The sign, which reads "Norman Chrysler | Jeep | Dodge LIED to us to make this sale" in big block, highly legible letters, is customer revenge in one of its finest forms, especially since the picture has gone viral on one of the bigger sites on the Internet.

Shabotski noted that there was another sign on the side of the vehicle, which told passersby how the dealer "ripped them off 9,000 dollars" and included their personal phone number to get more information.

Another Redditor, username ohtthatsnice, claimed to have once worked at the dealership and described the experience.

"I actually used to work at Norman Chrysler Jeep Dodge in the BDC department..our boss would say ANYTHING to get customers to come in. She lied all the time to these people. Some would be driving from more than an hour away and she would mislead them into thinking we had vehicles we didn't just to get them there," they said.

"They would also tell people their credit was 'pre-approved' even when it certainly wasn't. They would say they were doing a 'credit check', but it was all bulls**t. Anything to get people there."

The Norman dealership told us that even though the picture is garnering lots of attention right now, it is actually from 2005 and is making the Internet rounds after the Reddit user posted it with an enticing title, which read "I love it when people take s**t into their own hands."

"The customers don't even drive [the minivan] anymore and they've actually purchased another car from the dealership," they said. "The reason it got all of the attention was the title [of the post]."

We may never know what is actually going on here, but the moral of the story is that, in the Internet era, disgruntled consumers can have a much easier time getting back at dealerships where they've had a bad experience. Motivating customers to do so doesn't take much, either, since cars are such a significant purchase.

Shabotski, the original poster, said they would call the person the next time they saw the van around town to let them know that their crusade against the Norman dealership has actually been quite effective, although it may have taken a little longer than they intended.

I purchased my car from AUTO PALACE WOODSIDE QUEENS NY. This dealer rip you off if you finance through them The finance person name jay is a crook . He sold me a car for $18600 with finance. You would not believe how much closing cost he charged me. My car purchase price $18600 went up to over $27000. He just charged me over $4600 for extended bumper to bumper warranty, $ 1800 for extra insurance protection, $1500 bank fee and lot of other charges. He told me that if i cancel the deal I have to pay 35% fine of car price. he told me that I will get over $3000 back from extended warranty and will back $1500 from IRA. All baloney. When I call the insurance co. they told me Auto Palace pay them only $400 for just engine and transmission nothing else covered. Never trust this crook. I wish some come forward and put him in Jail for the rest of his life. He has done this kind a fraud to too many customer. He will not give us any copy to prove it because he said all copy will be mail to your home within 5 days. Never receive any copy or refund from IRA or from insurance co. He is a thief. Be care full when you buy from him.

I also came across a dishonest company that cost me millions of Dollars in damages. I have started a Web site to warn other companies about these people. See www.wacker-lies.com. We must stop evil acts that people and companies do for profit.

The car dealership claims the picture is from 2005, they lie to get people into their dealership to purchase cars, whose to say they're not lying about the picture as well.

I like it.. I like it a lot !!!.. Maybe we should do that with Papa Johns Pizza.. making announcements that they're passing the cost of their heathcare onto the customer.. 15 to 20 cents per pizza.. Just add that up over a years time.. & Papa John just paid their taxes & their Managers salary to boot... I say somebody start a website we can check once a week to see who's business we need to display on our rear glass as A-holes & Don't shop there !!

The costs have to be passes somewhere for Obamacare. It's that or employees take a hit. Yes, add it up over the years and that is what Papa Johns and other employers will have to pay the government for Obamacare. What, did you think that sh*t would be free? The government isn't some magical mystery entity that craps money. It comes from tax payers and businesses. Please, get a clue.

don't bother speaking logic, they don't understand it....wait until they see the price of food and everything else....as if Papa John's is the only place where food costs will be going up...if they had a job they wouldn't have the time to boycott anything...chick-fil-A showed how decent and quiet they were and nothing like the ones who came after them....they destroy state houses in WI AND HAVE TO PAY NOTHING....that needs to stop....if we get rid of the troublemakers once and for all

asinine...you just spend your days boycotting those who don't have the same view as you do....amazing how intolerant you are....next make it Amway, since they go along with Chick-fil-A and all the signs IA have seen on so many stores in ny town....don't think people are going to take it anymore...maybe some will start boycotting Target now and Ben and Jerry ice cream, since they don't agree with my values - I will find more...I will match you 2 to 1

A car dealer lied? It's surely the end times!
What jackasses car dealerships can be! Been there. Instead of a happy experience buying a new car, the hassle and hidden agendas...lies and bait come out. No wonder the term "like a car salesman" makes them cringe. It isn't really a term of endearment...

While I can appreciate the family taking the action they did, I believe to present a seven year old story as if it was current to be a sorry excuse for journalism, if what is presented here even fits that category.
