Mazda taped the ceremony commemorating production of the 2014 Mazda6 at its Hofu No. 2 plant in Japan, and now we have it. There are a few dark glimpses of the Euro-spec Mazda6 wagon as a couple of them roll out and do loops for the factory workers, but the cameras don't spend a lot of time on the car. A more well-lit demonstration will likely be seen at the Moscow Motor Show later this month.

The 14-minute video is in Japanese, so once you're finished watching the car you can enjoy the executive speeches, and it ends with a cheer by the workers. Check it out below.

Great looking car. I hope they bring it over with that Sky Active diesel and without all the tinsel!

Hey SoA, Are you looking at this? This is really pretty good looking: right-sized (for those not just driving through the doughnut shop) and sporty. You used to make wagons like this - with awesome AWD. I know it is hard to argue with your recent success but, something like this - or a true 5-door grand touring - would be awfully suhweet!

what a cheesy roll out... Mazda tried to copy BMW F30 3 series official presentation last year... the new Mazda6 didnt deserve this.

Well, BMW copied Audi's roll out of the A4 who copied Mercedes' roll out of the C Class. Actually, I just made that up. Honestly, who remembers (and compares) official car factory roll outs?

no. this isnt about the car, its about the factory and the workers morale.

Isn't Mazda broke? How can they afford to put on such a lavish extravaganza like that!?!?!?

I would prefer that they keep the wagons in Europe. Cuvs look better, and due to their higher ground clearance have better visibility and are safer in a crash. Not to mention that with them looming over other cars, you feel as if you're commanding the road. Plus, in my honest opinion men can drive them without being laughed at, unlike station wagons;as a man, I wouldn't be caught dead in a wagon, but a nice boxy, macho looking SUv or CUV? Now that's a different story!

Haha, you consider yourself "a man" but you're afraid to a car because it's a certain style/look? Get out of the stone-age, buddy! Also, far more women drive SUV/CUV's than men so in that sense, not "macho" at all.

*Correction- the macho man is afraid of people laughing at him! Needs an SUV to compensate for *cough-small peen-cough*!

CUV's are dumb because you get the same interior room as the station wagon but you waste more gas because of the higher build. A FWD CUV (ie. most of them) is even dumber. You get all the penalty of the gas mileage hit without even the benefit of AWD. Also- there is nothing 'macho' about a CUV or SUV. People are laughing at you for other reasons.

Interior room might be equivalent, but cargo room is generally superior in a CUV. Just as an example, the Mazda CX-5 (a small CUV) has 7 more cubic feet than an Audi All-Road and 17 more feet than an E-Class wagon. There are plenty of reasons for either. Wagons give more cargo room than a sedan and better gas mileage and dynamics than a CUV. CUvs have more cargo room than both, but worse mileage and dynamics. It's a matter of what you want.

Time for you to climb back under your rock... I've had a couple of S4 Avants (wagons) that I actually autocrossed and talk about a well balanced vehicle. As some others have posted, you get the same room in a wagon as a CUV yet the much better driving dynamics of a car. Not to mention fuel efficiency with may of the new models. If Audi still brought the S4 Avant here, we would have one. The Allroad is a big disappointment and is trying to steal some of that macho CUV market -- major fail. We're actually waiting for the new 3-series sportwagon due in the Spring for my wife which is getting rave reviews. CUVs are for Americans who don't appreciate cars and what they have to offer -- for the non-enthusiast, simple as that. If that wasn't the case, more manufacturers would bring their wagon offerings here. Did I miss the billboard on the Interstate informing us that CUVs are for macho men??? :)

OH MY GOD, I finally found it. This is the reason why all the good wagons don't come to the US. It's asshats like this that want to look "macho" ...in their CUV's of all things!! Safer in a crash = no Feeling like you're commanding the road = you're a complete moron Mind exploded, hatred of people who make Americans look dumb expanded.

He's got a point. Every winter, when I see top-heavy SUVs in the ditch, often on their sides or rolled over completely on their roof, I can't help but think.. "what a macho man".
