In the ongoing court battle between Apple and Samsung over copyrights and patents, Apple's senior vice president of worldwide marketing took the stand yesterday. The majority of his testimony was centered around tablets and smartphones, and what defines intellectual property, but at one point he revealed a big nugget. Schiller told the court that Apple had been considering other projects well before smartphones, including a camera, and designing a car.

Schiller also claimed that Samsung copied, stole, and ripped-off Apple's designs in creating their own smartphones.

While Google is the tech giant most heavily involved in the automobile business with its autonomous car, it is unclear what direction Apple would have taken. Perhaps a new system of touch screen gestures to control the car. We can't be sure, other than to speculate based on a single comment from a lengthy testimony on tablets and smartphones.

What next a net work of techies in India to tell you I'm sorry your won't start, lets try to help you after I say I'm so sorry 63 times. If the engine ran as fast as the techies mouth, it would be a winner! What would it run on Curry and Bullshit?

Watching the 100 Meter Men in London; why do we have electric cars called Leaf rather than "Bolt"; like "Lightening Bolt"?

You would have to hit the START button to turn it off..... It would crash at least once a week........ and just STOP working for no reason at least daily.....

lol google and windows releases programs knowing there are bugs in it hence SP 1, 2 and 3 updates. apple releases programs after the bugs are worked out hence no need for bug fixes hence the need to spend more money one them? perhaps your apple device crashes due to immense amount of pornography you view on it or the programs downloaded outside of the apple store. lol.

The Apple Car: --Elegant simple lines available in white or black only. --Price is fixed MSRP, about 33% more expensive than similar performance competitors. --Only transmission choice is CVT across all models. --There is no owners manual as the hood is welded shut and even oil changes or tire fill-ups require expensive dealer maintenance. --It runs only on E85. --The radio has an on-off button surrounded by a circular dial that adjusts the volume or switches tracks on the required iTunes subscription. The radio is non-removable and speakers are non-replaceable proprietary shape. --People who could never drive before would begin driving, join auto clubs, tell everyone else how to drive, and generally become insufferable bores.

I'm sure you'd rather drive the Android/Google car --Lines not quite as simple and elegant as Apple--but close enough. Plus you can have it in pink! --Price is free --Car tracks where you go, when you go, who goes with you and reports it all back to Google's advertisers --Attempting to use the car's stereo, navigation or even primary controls requires your dorky brother-in-law's help, and sometimes even he needs to resort to asking for assistance from some obscure internet forum. Once he fixes the problem, he'll chastise you and make you feel stupid. --Searching for a destination using the navigation system will bring up a screen full of ads from Google's paid advertisers. --Google won't quite be able to make the drivetrain work smoothly for the first few generations, so they'll just throw a huge 400hp engine at it. The car will get 12 MPG and do 0-60 in 11 seconds--but it has 400hp! --Google will derive "inspiration" from the BMW engines and Audi design, by which I mean that they'll copy without paying a licensing fee. BMW and Audi will stop innovating, because Google is copying their hard work and giving it away for free. --Android dealers will install their dealer-installed options and you won't be able to do anything about it. --People who drive Android cars will laugh at all the stupid people driving a car that just works.

I love how Apple people repeat slogans, it's adorable. I especially love it when they repeat slogans in order to be in denial. Apple guy: My Macbook just works! Think different! Person: Didn't it stop running a program you regularly use? Apple guy: Well, yeah, but... it just works! Person: It sounds like it isn't working, actually. Apple Guy: Uh... er... think different!

Lemme guess, it will probably have a 1.4 hybrid(of course!) engine making 90 hp, weigh 4000 pounds, seat 3 ( who cares if every other 4 door car seats 5??? It's an APPLE product! It doesn't share the same low standards as everyone else), , have an flimsy interior which falls apart very easily (hence the iphone's fragility). Oh, and it will be a nightmare to own, with tons of electrical gremlins as well as reliability problems. No aftermarket tuning cpabilities whatsoever! You should be happy with its perfectly adequate 0-60 time of 18 seconds! And if anything beaks, there goes your car-you can just buy another one! Don't forget-it's made in China by low paid workers in harsh living conditions.

I wonder how that would've turned out? Based on their current products... - "Elegant" and "minimalist" design. - Made in China, with an MSRP (fixed) comparable to that of Merc and BMW offerings. - Inferior performance to both those competitors - CVT only - Built so that the owner cannot do any modifications or maintenance themselves; it must be carried into a certified Apple dealer - Compatible with only Apple products (iPhone, iPod, iPad) - Owners would then begin to brag about how their Apple Car is superior to everything, and brag about how great the dealer experience was. - Despite inferiority everywhere, the Apple Car will soon outsell all other "luxury" marques. Yeah. I'm glad Apple didn't go that route.

ClementZ, I think you stuck a nerve based on the -4 (at the time of this port). I agree completely! Very nicely put.

Would require special $1000 cable to charge, that is useless on other cars. Non-standard connector port would change every 5 years. Sleek but highly fragile design. Fender benders result in $5000 worth of damage. Car won't start? Apple Genius says, "You're driving it wrong." Hyundai would copy the design and Apple would sue claiming a patent on car shape: small rectangle with rounded corners on top of big rectrangle with rounded corners, with four wheels. Siri misunderstands you and Apple Maps send you to a grocery store instead of the hospital. (this one is actually a true story from Jacksonville, Florida.)

It probably be easy to use and more intuitive then the competitors and crush everything else in it's class.
