One of the most exclusive upcoming supercars has just become a little bit more... exclusive.

Aston Martin has announced that the production run of its stunningly badass V12 Zagato will be cut from 150 to 101 units. Whether or not this is in response to low demand is not known, but for those who have signed on to purchase the €400,000 coupe, the value of their bounty is likely to increase.

The V12 Zagato was not penned by the famous design house. Rather, it was the result of an internal design competition. The car consists of an aluminum and carbon fiber body, and the underpinings of the Aston Martin V12 Vantage. Each car will take 2,000 man hours to build, with 100 hours alone spent on the paint job.

The combination of extensive carbon fiber use and the 510-horsepower 6.0-liter V12 means it will be one super fast – and ultra rare – supercar.

      One of the best looking Zagato's to date. Surprised to hear it was designed in house!

      I know why they lowered the volume; its hideous looking. The rear bears no resemblance in any way to AM and the front is inelegant and overwraught. The generic wheels and gaudy leather work make it even worse. I'm sure at least 10 are already on their way to Dubai and Saudi Arabia for some spoiled prince.

        @Jon Acton
        Have you ever even Googled Zagato? I don't think it's supposed to look like an AM.

      Now the rich can make even more at auction. At least they are ripping each other off.

      For less than 1/3 the price, I would buy the Jaguar XKRS which has similar looks, performance.

      Granted I think it is a stunning car . . . but no way in hell is a Vantage with a body kit worth 400,000 euro!! LMAO!! That's just like Eric Clapton's stupid ass paying over 3 mil for a Ferrari Italia with a body kit that made the car look worst!!!.

      No, it is not the low demand. Actually 49 people showed up with 400 k$ each and were turned down :)))) More seriously, the platforms used by Aston are getting old. It is not a surprise that demand is waning.
