We have no idea why the vehicle in the below video was rolling downhill on the wrong side of the road (a bad parking brake would be a good guess), but we do know that the gentleman in white is either brave or crazy... or a chilly cocktail of both.

In the video above, we have some dashboard camera footage of a vehicle rolling out of control with a gang of guys chasing after it as things look increasingly dire. It takes one particularly fleet-of-foot man with some serious brass clock-weights to run alongside and try to dive into the car before a nasty accident ensues. Scroll down to watch the video and see if he was successful.

I like how the person in the white car couldn't trouble him or herself to simply turn onto the curb to avoid a head-on collision.

Its called "head up your butt" syndrome. Most drivers only look about fifteen feet in front of their car, or the white car would have at least come to a complete stop long ago.

Here's to hoping that was actually HIS car he hopped in and appeared to drive off with. lol Either he stopped somewhere down the road, or someone went from having a bad day to having a REALLY bad day.

I had to do this once. My 17-yr old idiot self managed to put the front left of my 69 Beetle in front of a perpendicular '68 Fury III 4-door doing at least 60 down the highway. The impact sprung my door open and I found my butt on the road. My bug, was stuck in 2nd gear with its wheels turned to the right, was chugging along in a circle and heading right back for me. If I hadn't rolled to my left, it would have ran me over. But then it did run over its own front bumper, left on the street from the collision, which both straightened out the wheels and sent the car with uncanny precision directly down the road toward oncoming traffic. I had to get up and chase down my car, hop in (I had previously removed the running boards wouldn't you know) and struggle to steer it into the left shoulder because the linkage was messed up. It was only after I got it moved over and stopped that I got to see what hit me. Life has been a bit on the dull side since then. If only there were dash video cameras in the 70s.

Was helping a stranded motorist when a police vehicle showed up and he came to direct traffic. At one point I noticed his car backing up slowly with lights flashing and going across the road. I figured he was just repositioning for a tow truck or something, when the officer comes up to me to tell he he'd take it from there, "Who's in your car, if you're standing here?!" The officer and I took off after the car moseying it's way across the road in reverse, completely unattended! Turns out the officer was in such a hurry he'd forgotten to actually put the car in PARK, LOL

That was awesome, If one of those people running after it was not the owner, wonder what he/she thought after the incident.
