It's a familiar tactic: if you want a customer to know what a car can do, you've got to get them in it and take them for a ride. To truly impress a customer, though, you've got to take them, *ahem,* for a ride. It works so well that NASCAR driver Carl Edwards recently did it with Ford engineers in a Taurus SHO – the very sedan those engineers worked on.

So when Goodyear wanted to show off the finer attributes of its Eagle F1 Asymmetric All-Season tire, it grabbed Ben Conrad, director of Ken Block's last two Gymkhana videos, to choreograph some shenanigans. A Goodyear tire store in California was used as bait – an actor posed as a salesman who got his fellow store helper, professional stunt driver Danny Downey, to take customers for a little demo in a BMW.

We don't know what the conversion rate was, but there were probably a few tires sold that day. Have a look below to watch the videos.

Probably had actors pose as customers as well. You know so they they still look clueless while cameras are filming about in the store.

Easy enough. [guy standing near the front door] "We're shooting a commercial. If you'd like to be in it, please sign this model release and we'll give you a discount on the tires you purchase." In SoCal (where this was filmed), pretty much everyone has an acting career 'on the side', 90% of customers would say GREAT!

Is "Eagle F1 Asymmetric All-Season tire" code for RS-A replacement? I really hope it is, because the RS-A is/was one of the worst tires ever made.

I've heard some horror stories about the RS-A but my experience hasn't been as bad as some of the online reviews I've read. I'm about 15k miles into my second set on a 2006 Ford Fusion. They are somewhat noisy, though.

You are lucky. I believe my car had them from the factory, but one of the PO's was smart and replaced them with some Yokahama Avid TRZs (or some other Yokahama tire).

Way back in 1992 I had an Eagle Talon TSi AWD and got a "special deal" on some Goodyear GSCs, the tires that the top end Corvettes came with at the time. The grip was amazing...almost impossible to lose traction short of doing something stupid. Unfortunately they wore out in 10,000 miles and didn't seem like such a special deal after all.

Still think goodyear suck, make a comparo with another car at the same time with some michelinĀ“s or yokohama just to name some and make it with real timing and distance.

Even the cheapest new cars far outhandle people's abilities. He's not really driving all that fast and HP is only useful at very high speeds (e.g. over 100mph) which the vast majority never, ever reach. From the sounds of it, it's an automatic as well....

Really tempted to get these for my Ford Focus ST, but they are a bit more than I want to spend (the ST comes with the summer Eagle F1's).
