Well, kids, it's been a rough one, but America has made it to another birthday. This is the one shining day out of the year when neighbors can comfortably put politics aside, share a frosty beverage and take comfort in the knowledge that despite our differences, we're all lucky to let freedom ring and call this stretch of the planet home.

While we'll be taking it easy for the day, we'll also be sure to keep you up to date with the most pressing news. You know, in case any of you out there are chained to a desk instead of enjoying someone else's boat. It's the American way.

Happy Independence Day from all of us at Autoblog.

Happy 4th to you too! Right truck, wrong photo. Even in the far reaches of Alaska, there should be greenery by now. Come on guys! I would seriously like to attend one of AB's pre-release meetings. I imagine a TMZ style meeting.

there were factory Scouts with similar paint jobs in '76 for the bicentennial. as a young buck i found one in a junkyard to pull parts from for my '77 - later i found they made exactly 384 of the model I saw. "Spirit of '76"

I'd drive it. Looks fun, bit it needs air in the tires.
