If you've got a few seconds to spare, we suggest heading toward the Aston Martin website for a little virtual window shopping. The supercar manufacturer has officially rolled out the configurator for the new Vanquish, and while the options are limited to a gaggle of colors, a few wheel choices and some carbon fiber trim, it's still fun to figure out just how annoying we can make the new ultra luxury machine. Sadly, the company doesn't offer a paisley vinyl wrap to match our smoking jackets.

The online tool doesn't allow you to play with the interior options either, but the site does give visitors a good idea of what to expect from the cabin. Quilted leather seats in hues from tame to obscene and plenty of fine details are par for the course. Buyers can look forward to 556 horsepower from a 6.0-liter V12 as well as a chassis that's a full 25-percent stiffer than anything else on the VH platform. How much will it cost? Who knows, but it will hit 60 mph in 4.1 seconds on its way to a top speed of 183 mph. We guess we'd take one without the paisley wrap.

Did anyone else notice they have a Skyfall Silver as one of the colors available? Did anyone else realize that Skyfall is the name of the next Bond film? Hmm...

Many have complained about the new Vanquish's "low" top speed of 183. But that just tells you that with 556 HP, it's obviously geared for acceleration over speed, which will equate to more fun as well as usability of all that power. Acceleration can be used right away. Top speed; hardly ever. Regardless of all that, I just can't get past that awful front splitter and the even-worse rear spoiler. Both look so out of place that you'd almost think Mansory had a hand in the final design of this car. AM's cars since the DB7 have been known for their cohesive, flowing designs. This just looks so "boy racer-ish" which is very un-AM. Sad.

But 0-60 in 4.1 seconds is hardly impressive for a supercar that's bound to cost over $200,000.

But while something in the upper 3's would look better on paper, in the real world, those 2-3 tenths of a second wouldn't even be noticeable. It's about the driving experience and the emotions, not numbers.

It's time for Aston to branch out style wise. This is a 'new' model? How on earth can you tell?

I'm a massive AM aficionado, however this vanquish just strikes me as too vulgar and busy. I have slowly fallen out of love with Aston's for the last 3-4 years (not that my opinion matters since I am not in a position to buy one).
