Jaguar looks to be hard at work on a new Track Edition of the company's already menacing XKR-S. Spy photographers spotted a more hardcore Track Edition testing at the Nürburgring recently, and while details are scarce, odds are the high horsepower coupe will serve as a suitable competitor to the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Black Series, among others. The car we see here clearly wears a more aggressive front fascia with a deep front splitter and new canards as well as a massive, track inspired rear wing. The hood also wears substantially larger air outlets, which could hint to more power on hand. The current XKR-S, which we recently reviewed, dishes out 550 ponies.

Indoors, the rear seats have been scrapped in favor of a roll bar, and our shooters say the meaner Jaguar corners like it's riding on significantly stiffer springs. Looks like fun.

I love what they've done with the front end of the FT-86, but the rear could still use some work... wait, Jagwhat?

Just give up already. I saw a XKR in the showroom with the same smurf blue and it looks ridiculous. Like a lawyer in clown suit.

So what you're saying is that you don't understand the history behind the chosen color. There's a great deal more going on here that symbolizes a heritage established long before you came along and tripped upon it. I would suggest you re-phrase your comment and simply ask: "Why is it French Racing Blue?" Then you could at least pretend to come across as intelligent.

i agree with most here i loooove jags i think they offer the best value for money. and in a market where almost all cars have gotten ugly. jags still look sexy. but they really need to move on. this platform is almost a decade old. just bring on a new one already

I'm a huge Jag lover and owner... They need to move on from the XK variants, lol. This thing is officially milked! Put all efforts into getting the F-Type couple and a X-Type replacement into production. Just my 2cents ;)

I too am a Jaguar fan. Actually the market for grand touring cars is booming right now. That is why Jaguar is bothering, to capture current customers, so no the DK is not milked quite yet. Yes, I too look forward to the F-type. But age 50+ guys who understand what a GT is will love this thing once they drive it, especially when they compare it to the price of an Aston. And while it "only" makes 550HP right now, it wouldn't take much to push 650 with the right modifications.

Please paint it British Racing Green. It's the proper color for a fast Jaaaag.

As much as I loved the XKR-S it's so far behind the rest of the pack in terms of performance. They are pushing it into a higher bracket with much more exclusive and desirable cars. Kudos for producing it but I just don't see the purpose of this car at the price point it will likely be listed at.

The car isn't directed to you. The target market is older. They see a difference between a grand touring car and a car full of techno-wizardry, no matter how cool that might be, but they want to spend less than the price of an Aston. Plus, there's still something sexy about this car. You can't always say that about some of the other options out there.

This car looks just so wrong yet just so right . I love the color and this is another option since I'm thinking about giving Jaguar another try .

The color looks pretty, but I would love to see this in BRG.
