In real estate, the three most important things are location, location, location. In motorsports, it's preparation, preparation, preparation. Le Mans is only a few days away and the Pratt & Miller team has put together a five-part series examining what they do to get the Corvette C6.R ready to win its class.

The first episode is called "The Prep." You quickly find out that work on this year's race began at the end of last year's race, and that you need 12 months of getting ready because once you're trackside, "You can't go back." You'll find the short yet packed video by scrolling down.

*UPDATE: Pratt & Miller has just uploaded the second video in this series, The Team. You can watch it by scrolling below.

Agreed with all the preceding remarks - this is far and away my favorite race series to watch, and specifically the GT class. I hope it gets more traction in the USA and starts to get some real TV coverage.

Can't wait for Lemans, I hope to get there one of these years. Lemans and the Isle of Man TT are two of many automotive items on my wish list.

After Ford's momentous wins at LeMans in the 60s, I never thought I'd see an American car seriously compete there again. Kudos to Chevy and GM for making it happen, even in the face of corporate financial meltdown. Good luck this weekend!

Don't forget the Vipers that dominated before Corvette came to play.

Hats off to Corvette for being involved in this level of Motorsports. If only Ford would get involved and re-ignite the competition.

Wow...I just want the sounds of Le Mans...Sombody should make a sound track of all the engines. Imagine a corvette V8 going flat out..say as a ring tone...or my bed time story... I wonder if ford is going to put a new shelby GT500 in le mans...That'll be sweet. Also I really like that Nissan Delta Wing..

You know, GT racers have got to be my favourite out there. Something about the sound and speed combined with the sexiness of cars designed for mass production as well a racing. And I don't just mean the C6. The 911, M3, New Viper, SLS, R8, etc. are all AWESOME GT cars.
