When a new hatchback or sport wagon hits the European market, it's only a matter of time before the tuners get their hands on it. And in the case of the new Volvo V40, that comes at the hand of Heico Sportiv.

The German tuner has been teasing us with plans to mod the V40 for months now. So with sketches and the promise of a racing version already on the wire, Heico has followed up with the first images of its V40 tuning program.

Mechanical changes center around an ECU reflash for the turbo five that boosts output from the car's standard 237 horsepower and 236 lb-ft of torque up to 266 hp and 269 lb-ft. Seven-spoke alloys, a full aero kit, and quad ovoid exhaust tips round out the package and set Heico's V40 apart from its stock brethren.

Nothing bothers me more than fake vents. Those inlets on the front bumper (on the red car) lead to nothing.

i think the Audi A3 kinda trumps this in design and performance. a 'tuned' A3 gets to 265hp and carries quattro....that being said, i'm glad Volvo is emerging with some passion again.....adding to the lonely C30 which has been the only worthwhile Volvo for a while.

I saw a V40 today, Volvo has a big display at the Z├╝rich train station. Wish they were coming to the US... but I'm happy with my new car choice (Focus ST).

from the front view here, it looks (to me) like a nice long hood short bob tail 4 passenger coupe...everything else could stay the same and I'd be happy. but another hatchback or sportwagen....blahhh!
