In the automotive realm, there's nothing quite like the Bugatti Veyron, which, in convertible form, is known as the Grand Sport. With more than a thousand horsepower from its sixteen-cylinder engine and a top speed of well over 200 miles per hour, the Veyron Grand Sport is the fastest and most powerful open-top production road car in the world.

Well... it was the fastest, most powerful open-top production car in the world, until Bugatti went and created the Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse. This is the topless version of the Veyron that's been fitted with the 1,200-horsepower engine from the automaker's Super Sport model. That means it can hit the ludicrous speed of 255 miles per hour – critically beating the regular Veyron by two mph – with nothing over your head but the open sky.

Bugatti has seen fit to honor its Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse with a new video, and we invite you to watch it by scrolling down below. We've also embedded three more new videos from Bugatti for your viewing pleasure. Enjoy!

I think it's high time for a Veyron successor. Short of beating the world speed record yet again, and/or adding another couple hundred horsepower, nothing else is really relevant amid the sea of special edition Veyrons. There are only 300 or so produced, and it seems one in 5 at least is a special edition/oneoff. I say the Veyron's grand finale should be a track readier model. I bet the fatty could lose 500 pounds or so pretty easily, even retaining the drivetrain. Firmer suspension, high downforce fixed aero, tighter gearing, and 1200hp. Because while I could count the number of places a Veyron could go 250mph on one hand, the number of places you could use the acceleration and handling of one is much higher. So how about a Veyron that wont be embarrassed by cars with half the power and a tenth the cost in the twisties?

Beating the world speed record is a pretty big deal, and the Veyron can be beat in acceleration and handling because it was specifically designed to beat the world speed record. Audi has plenty of racing vehicles for the Volkswagen group.

If you're bored with the Veyron, you need to get another hobby other than cars.

Oh, it will, the f1 was a god in it's time, and MClaren's silence about this new monster shows they're up to something.

I don't think you can "Kill" a Veyron. Its SO far gone in so many areas and yet its still a comfortable cruising machine....Somehow haha? You might be able to nudge past a Veyron in certain areas. But with 1200Hp...Thats about it.

Whether or not you can attain one, any car enthusiast can be astonished by the brilliant engineering that came to be and the fact that it's a piece of art work on wheels. This car set a benchmark. It's the first of its kind to accomplish such amazing speeds. It has without a doubt made history and you got to witness it.

Best part about the Veyron, is its benchmark status - pulling together a car that beats it in handling and quarter mile. GC8 impreza with the STi swap and cosworth block is my favorite. Completely attainable.

No way, there's a speed and power war going on out there. Every time there's a new champion other manufacturers are out to smoke it, then the cycle repeats.
