Sure, you can enjoy the Aston Martin LMP1 race car, a Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 and the deviously capable Jaguar XKR-S in the new April Alpinestars Pack for Forza Motorsport 4. But a little further down the list of ten cars are some delightful sleepers: the 1972 Mercedes-Benz 300 SEL 6.3 that would inaugurate AMG's tuning and motorsports credentials (our personal favorite), the 1995 BMW M5 that cemented that model's reputation, and the 1997 Volvo 850 R that was still glowing from the wagon's racing campaign in the British Touring Car Championship.

The pack will be available for 560 MS points on April 3 (or free for those with a Season Pass), and is rounded out by the Maserati Quattosporte Sport GT S, 1985 Mazda RX-7 GSL-SE, 1959 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz Convertible, and 2012 Scion TC. You'll want to watch the associated video trailer, so click here for that.

The foglights on the SEL look like they're floating in space.

I've given up on Forza DL content. Forcing me to buy 8 or 9 shitty cars I don't care about just so I can have 1 or 2 I do care about. Lame. I perceive that as a big FU from Turn 10. We should be able to buy individual cars at a slightly higher price. These companies have over capitalized on the DL content. They short you in the basic game and then make you pay extra to get things that should have come with the game in the first place. Charging us for the Porsche pack when it was their fault a deal couldn't be made??? How about you do the right thing and make the Porsches pack free. What's going to happen with the next gen game consoles? $70 games and another $30-100 in DL content!? I make a very good living. This is not about affordability. It's about principle.

Nearly everything in this game is licensed. Cars, race tracks, wheels, aftermarket parts, logos on race tracks, etc. That's above and beyond the cost of the actual modelling and coding of the game. DLCs are a good way to make that extra money that guarantees they're making a profit on the game. They make the DLCs appeal to as broad a fan base as possible to sell as many as possible. I don't begrudge them that. I want them to succeed so they can bring me more of my favorite racing game. You're wrong about the Porsche pack as well. How can it be Forza's fault when EA holds the license? EA wanted to build a wall around their Need For Speed franchise, falsely believing that having Porsche exclusive to NFS would increase sales. When they realized that plan didn't work, they went back to Forza who had never left the bargaining table. I'm sure some arm-wrenching by Porsche ensured a deal could be made. The Porsche pack is a licensing cost above the cost of all the previous licenses they'd already paid for, so we have to pay for the DLC. I understand that, and I will happily pay it. If your principle is "I don't want to spend any more money on this game than is absolutely necessary" then don't buy the DLCs.

According to the fat head on Top Gear, this is the only car from which you have the right to sit in the back seat and call in an air strike.

"Fat Head"? Anyway, you are very much wrong. That would be the 600 Grosser "BIG" that is the darling of the dictators, as well as the glorious human being known as Jeremy Charles Robert Clarkson.

Have they fixed how crappy their online servers are? As promised, I've been letting FM4 collect pounds of dust while I actually get to play a game online in Mass Effect 3.

I bought the season pass so I'll definitely be downloading the DLC. The Maserati will definitely be coming to my garage along with the SLS AMG.

I don't have this game yet, and although I'd like to get it now, I think I'll just wait until they do an "Ultimate Collection" that includes all this DLC like they did with Forza 3...

Smart... knowing turn 10 they probably will... Just like everything. Sell it for big bucks at the beginning, then give it away once the masses have bought it
