Being a bus driver in China must be awful. Lots of traffic, lots of people, no tipping. And the job has just gotten worse in Jinghua, where a bus company has instructed its drivers to please stop hitting expensive supercars.
To illustrate the point, drivers were shown a poster with supercar logos to watch out for and how much the associated cars were worth. Hit a Lamborghini, you'll be out 5 million yuan (almost $800,000 USD). And right there, the last vestige of fun was taken away from the under-appreciated Chinese bus driver.

The poster even includes the Shelby Super Cars logo, which can't possibly be all that common in China. Odder still is the omission of the Porsche insignia, which we take to mean it's open season on Boxsters and Caymans.

It is not because it is expensive, but people who buy these cars tends to be not just mere business owners but rather highly connected politicians or gangsters. Legally their own insurance should cover anything the bus' insurance not covered, but in practice the political connections can force the bus companies to pay up even if it is not the bus drivers' fault. Don't you just hate corruption?

LOL SSC is priced at "at least 50 million yuan (7.7 million USD)." I think the reason Porsche is not on the list is because the cheapest one is sold for less than 2 million yuan (300,000 USD) in China. I don't think the thing is meant to ask bus drivers to memorize the logo, just to illustrate how much those cars cost, so they can decide whether to flee the scene.

Maybe the message is really, "Memorize these logos. If the car that you just hit is one of these, you should never return back to the depot. Just walk away."

Ask me if I care about your ladder bar set-up. Spoiler: I don't. Plus, this has nothing to do with speed. It's about the value of the cars.

Why stop at Porsches? Just toss the fines out ot the window and declare open season on every driver that cuts off a bus regardless of what type of car they drive. Except Bentley drivers. Everybody laughs at them for buying an overdressed and overpriced Mercedes S-class anyway. At least show some love for the bus driver, folks.
