NBA basketball fans who watched last year's slam dunk contest on All-Star Weekend saw a spectacular dunk by Blake Griffin over a Kia Optima, with an assist from former teammate Baron Davis, who passed Griffin the ball through the sedan's moonroof.

To celebrate the one-year anniversary of the dunk, Kia commissioned a spoof to run on Funny or Die. The spot features Griffin and Jeff Goldblum, plus a "high-flying" Optima.

Will the Optima make the dunk over the 6'10 Griffin? Well, there's a reason Blake's calling for a timeout in the screengrab above. Hit the jump to watch.

Better ending: car dunks, then falls on Blake Griffen, crushing him. Goldblum says "I'm just a theoretical physicist, not an actually physicist. Now, making my self scarce!" Van rolls away, roll credits.

"Overthrusters" & "buckaroo". Loved the Jeff Goldblum reference to the cult-favorite movie "Buckaroo Bonzai".!

Meh. Not as shameless as the original product placement stunt - is there nothing that NBA players won't ***** themselves out for? - but still pretty weak.

Normally people who have money want to try and get more money. Like like when you get paid for two weeks work then you work another 2 to get another pay check. If you are a recognizable person and someone is willing to give you money in stand in front of a camera for 10 minutes why would you not do it.

Because he is a man of principle. There is no way he'd film a commercial and get hundreds of thousands(or millions) for it when he can make much less money doing whatever he does.

Exactly correct, Hater. I do what I do, earn an honest living, and it requires no further explanation or apology. I'm sure all the millionaires appreciate your backing. Back to my original post though. The slam dunk 'content' has become increasingly pathetic and shameless. The Optima parked at the 3-point line may have been where the whole spectacle jumped the shark.

I don't really have a taste for funny-or-die videos. I find college humor funnier.
