The 2013 Nissan Pathfinder will be making its debut at April's New York Auto Show, but before that it's got to prove itself on the other side of the country. Nissan engineers are flogging the unibody crossover in the climatological extremes of The Great Northwest to make sure it does as well with owners as it does on the comfy confines of the show circuit.

The engineers don't give away anything we didn't already know about it or its roomier, more accessible interior. But along with the rolling footage we do get a few quick shots of the versatile interior and that third-row access even with a baby-seat installed. It's all in the video after the jump.

So, it can tow a UTV and a lightweight trailer, congrats. A CR-V could tow that much.... They should have gone a bit bigger for the demo in this video.

It drive on snow that's already been packed down, and can tow a golf cart. Yay.

Capable towing? Wow...2000 lbs is such a workout. Well, then again, this thing will compete against the Explorer, which in eco-turd 4 cylinder guise can only tow 2000. As long as there aren't too many passengers. (don't flame me re: the ecoboost V6 that actually works and is an awesome powerplant)

Isn't the Xterra rumored to be dead?

This car is much improved for the way most people use their Pathfinders. But, looking at some of that testing in the snow and through the water, I can only think how much better off they'd be with an older Pathfinder.

Why, did this one get stuck or slip, or would you enjoy using 30% more fuel? I must have missed that part.

Unless this was filmed prior to the Detroit show... is the camo even relevant?

This video reminds me: I saw 2 S7's (or maybe an S6 and S7) getting a winter workout heading East (I was heading West) on HWY 285 just East of Fairplay. I-70 was closed both directions, so they were probably diverting. I almost lost it, it was so sweet! Sorry....The new Pathfinder looks pretty cool, let's hope it has as much offroad capability as its predecessor, and a real engine, and transmission for that matter....no CVT's!!!
