You've soaked in the details. You've seen the pictures. You may even have set one as the wallpaper on your desktop or smartphone. But the new BMW M6 isn't the ultimate ogling machine. It's the ultimate driving machine. So the best we can advise is that you go out and drive one. But short of that, you'll want at least to see it in motion.

Fortunately, BMW has released a pair of clips showing the new coupe and cabrio doing what they do best in a setting that, to our eyes, looks like it must be in the Persian Gulf. Follow the jump to check them out, and try not to mind the soundtrack that's dubbed dramatic music over what we all really want to hear: the engine note.

The music appeals to a wider range of people, as opposed to an engine note which is only for enthusiasts.

If's amazing all these Pukes think you want to listen to music. When all you want is to listen to the car.

I wouldnt say that was whiny at all. I thought the same thing, the music is too much and is too dramatic. No music with a good recording of the exhaust note would have made a stronger point. The only reason I can see that they didnt its that the exhaust note sucks (which I seriously doubt) or they have more videos planned and they are trying to build interest in these cars.

I haven't been a big fan of BMW lately(I loved the older E36s, E39s and so on).. that being said I have enjoyed almost every generation of the M5 but the rest of the line up these days haven't really appealed to me like the older cars have.. however this new M6 looks promising(I love the way it looks), and hopefully can restore my faith in BMW.

The locations are actually both in Miami. The first video is right outside the Miami Heat's American Airlines arena and the circuit they're on is part of the old Miami Grand Prix circuit at Bayfront Park. The second video was shot at Crandon Park I believe on Key Biscayne in Miami as well. Yours Truly, 19 year Miami resident.

Yawn.... Seriously BMW? Hyundai is making better videos than this. ... oh and it looks like any other BMW. Some differentiation would be nice.

      This M6 doesn't have a voice like the V10.
