Kia has officially dropped new teaser for its Chicago-bound Track'Ster concept. Word has it the new hatch will be based largely on the company's Soul five-door, though with a few notable tweaks. For starters, designers scrapped the rear doors for more of a hot hatch look. A new front fascia looks to be part of the recipe as well, and odds are the Track'Ster will rock suitably outrageous wheels befitting a true concept.

But will it come to production? It's hard telling. As you may recall, the Soul has been a go-to favorite as a concept platform in the past. Kia showed off the beach-going Soul'ster concept at the 2009 Detroit Auto Show, and while the vehicle generated enormous buzz, the economic slowdown put a stop to any production plans. Still, with corporate cousin Hyundai rocking the Veloster, there may be room in the Kia stable for a performance hatch.

The Track'Ster Concept will make its official debut later this week.

        "I thought only the Chinese did blatant carbon copies of other cars." This KIA concept like the Soul was designed by an American & an international group of designers in Kia's California design studio. Go home & take a nap instead of spreading racist & nationalistic hate over the internet. Sad.

        This KIA Concept looks nothing like the Skoda Jjoyster. The rear light graphics are completely different. & the picture above only shows the back of the KIA, so there is no way that you can compare the two cars at this point.

        Yup! I tottaly agree! And all BMW's are copyes of Mercedeses And the Honda Civic, Toyota Auris,Renault Megane, Peugeot 307,Fiat Bravo, Seat Leon are ALL copies of the Golf. They're giving us the same thing man! They're just changing the badges,man...:) ( By the way: This is just a concept, and as such, if it copies anything than it would be the Volvo 480, witch was the first 3-door 4 seater with a full glas rear door.)

        Skoda makes the Joyster. If Kia copies it, they should call it the Kia Jester.

        @wrobwarn34
        What does the resale value of a KIA van from 2005 have to do with all the newer KIA models that came out in the last 4 to 5 years? NOTHING. The resale value record on recent KIA cars prove what I mean. Next time come up with a better argument. Sad.....

Honda Passport, Chevy Blazer, Buick Rendvous, Toyota 4 Runner, Mercedes M, 1st generation Lexus RX, 1st generation Acura MDX, 1st generation Saturn Vue, Saturn Outlook, GMC Accadia, Saab, but only the 2003 Kia Sorento was the copy cat........ignoring that the 2nd genration Chevy Equionox also has slanted C pillars as well as the Escape, and Ford Freestyle.
