The Nissan Juke R is a gaggle of impressive numbers: 1,540 hours and 22 weeks of development time, 11 videos of its development, several upset bosses, 480 GT-R-derived horsepower and 428 pound-feet – and to that group we can add a 3.7-second 0-to-60 time and a top speed of 160 miles per hour. Yes, 3.7 seconds may be a second slower than the GT-R, but it's only two-tenths of a second slower than the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG.

Speaking of the videos, the eleventh and last in the series has been released and it's the final teaser before the real thing explodes onto the scene in Dubai. You'll find it after the jump, and when you're finished with that you can watch them all here. We've included the 10th vid after the jump as well, because who isn't interested in a track shakedown of the crossover Beelzebub uses to take his little 'bubs to soccer practice?

Safe to say the SLS is only quicker on a well prepped surface. Also, this is the '07-'10 (?) version with 480hp, which was only rated to 3.8sec 0-60 without launch control. I say it fairs pretty well.

Makes you wonder why it is Nissan UK that is doing this without prior approval from the mothership, instead of Nissan US. Isn't innovation and audacity to try things America takes pride in? And now, this has turned into a rather successful marketing tool (we're reading and talking about it, aren't we?) not just for Nissan UK but also the entire Nissan brand. Courage. You (Nissan NA) don't haz it.

I'm not surprised at all that it was the UK division, have you seen the Micra-R they built years ago: http://www.rsportscars.com/nissan/2004-nissan-micra-r-concept/ Secondly, to correct you a bit...the UK has been marrying big engine-small cars way before us Americans were and to be honest other than Caroll Shelby, I can't think of too many others that made a name based on that approach. America is all about big cars with BIGGER motors and small cars with small motors...the Corvette is close to the UK formula, but still ways off. I too would like to see Nissan in general take more risk or approach their cars with a bit more aggression, otherwise companies like Hyundai/Kia will just continue to walk all over them.

Okay, I like the Juke R. Make it happen. But I really think the Maxima deserves the "R" treatment. Make the Maxima R. That would be awesome. Hell, Nissan should have an "R" line.

The Maxima-R is called the Infiniti M56x. The shame about the Maxima is that it's front-wheel drive and it's 300HP stats right now are all it really can handle without replacing the drivetrain.

Does Nissan provide bags to put over your head so no one will recognize you while driving it?

Nope...you will be flying past them too fast for them to recognize you

You should live so long as to even get a chance to SIT in it bub. Your driving skills or your wallet are doubtless not up to the task so no need to worry about your anonymity.

No, the Juke-R is not the world's quickest crossover. Sorry, nice try.

Go read up on the definitions of CUV vs SUV. An SUV is a body on frame, usually massive behemoth with truck like underpinnings. A CUV is, for all intents and purposes, a mini- SUV like shape based on a car platform. It "crosses over" the huge divide between a true car and a true SUV.

I think it is a great exercise for Nissan. It is getting people to talk about them, and gives car guys something to talk about. Kudos to Nissan.
