According to a report from Inside Line, Kia is considering creating a number of variants of its GT Concept, including both a coupe and a wagon. If true, that could mean Kia is aiming to create a family of vehicles capable of competing with German luxury automakers like BMW and Audi.

The Korean manufacturer has made it clear that a production version of the four-door will likely make its way to market in 2013 as an affordable alternative to hardware like the Audi A7, and Kia has made waves about wanting a budget sports car in its stable in the past.

Variants of the incredibly attractive GT would seem perfect for slotting into all of the above spots. With a turbocharged 3.3-liter V6 good for 390 horsepower, the GT should be capable of keeping up with brawny hardware from its European competition.

A twin-turbo 390 hp V6 would be awesome. This could definitely tear me away from the Taurus SHO especially if the price is right ($40k).

I don't really see how Kia can make anything that can compete with BMW and Audi, especially under their badge. That seems rather ambiguous. Also I hate to be a downer but the front of this GT concept seems to be pretty ugly, needs some revision. Kia made some descent looking cars lately, but unfortunately this concept is not one of them.

the most laughable part of the article is when they write that Kia is aiming to create a family of vehicles capable of competing with German luxury automakers like BMW and Audi. In your dreams , in your dreams...

I'd love to see Kia make something RWD that goes against the likes of the ATS, G37, and 3 series. This could fit the bill perfectly.

I still would rather have an ATS. Kia isn't luxury, I never think it will be. Brand image.

The dimensions of this car were 184 in. in length so it would be closer to a compact car.

Can't wait till the Hyundai troll that lurks this website with multiple accounts, under the names of invisibleblog, M, none, Austin, inch5, Mitchell, Butterfly, Twitter, Wrangler Unlimited, __I__, your are done, and 81 comes on here and starts bashing Hyundai, upvoting himself in the process, and downvoting anyone who doesn't agree with him like he does on every Hyundai page. Downvote me if you must, it will just prove that I am speaking the truth.

Autoblog is pro Hyundai, You're going to get more up votes than down. I think there are more Toyota trolls... You're a Kia fanboy if you're blind sighted to think it can compete with the G 37, c series, and ATS.

If they can build this and up the quality and keep the price low why not.

Bring it on, please (the coupe version) to compete directly with the Honda Accord coupe. The KIA's a much better looking vehicle!

Is this an Aston Martin with hollywood "Batman" additions all over the car to be used as a stunt in their next movie? What's with those silly plastic things glued onto the doors, and the plastic things glued on the wheels. what's with that stupid wing in the headlight

Looks like this car has serious visibility problems. Much like a lot of Modern Kia/Hyundai products. I for one do not feel confident with a little slat to see through while i hurl 3000lb of metal at 70mph through crowded streets. Remember when automakers used to advertise how great the viewing angle was from the inside?

That new doofy Evoque also has slit-like windows, and the reviewers are all over that thing as car-of-the year, etc.
