We're all for anything Top Gear UK, so we were thrilled to stumble upon this 30-second teaser for the show's trip to India. It appears Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond will be embarking on a trade mission. And yes, you read "trade mission." The UK's big three will apparently attempting to improve Britain's economy by boosting trade with the good people of India.

Of course Jezza, Captain Slow and Hamster are also picking special budget cars for the journey (as demonstrated by the curiously modified Rolls-Royce shown above), and the typical shenanigans are all too likely to ensue. Hit the jump to watch the promo video. The special airs on BBC Two on December 28, and on torrents globally moments thereafter.

This looks to be the typical hijinks.....just what I want from a christmas special. I imagine the contrast between the Jag, Roller, and the Mini will be hilarious - combined with Hammond leaving the other two behind when they break down.

Of all the countries they can goto, they goto the one without roads. I guess they are visiting the lost British auto industry there.

"Of all the countries they can goto, they goto the one without roads. I guess they are visiting the lost British auto industry there." India has plenty of roads, and furthermore the British car industry isn't doing too badly ... it's still building some 1.3 million cars annually. And before you harp on about "being Indian" and "being this and that", the name and domiciliary of the entity on a share certificate means nothing, whether it be a private British company owned by an Indian company, or a public American company being owned multinationally by people, charities, trusts and other companies.

In the UK, the Christmas holidays for many people run all the way through to the New Year, and BBC and ITV schedule their programming accordingly.

India serves as the greatest next market of the auto industry. When Mr. Jeremy goes to India next time , I will also go together!
