There must be something in the water at the Busch household. Kurt Busch has reportedly just parted ways with Penske by "mutual agreement" after a season packed with controversy. The racer won 16 events in just six years of racing with the team, but lately found himself drawing headlines more for his off-track antics. Busch entered into a confrontation with two members of the media after a race in Richmond in September. He also lobbed a volley of obscenities at an ESPN reporter during the season finale at Homestead, Florida. Busch had also made a habit of demeaning crew members over the radio during races, and his crew chief left the team for greener pastures after the last race of the season.

Of course, younger brother Kyle Busch hasn't had a much better year. Kyle was cited for traveling 128 mph in a Lexus LFA six months ago and more recently, he endured a $50,000 fine and a one-race suspension for intentionally wrecking Ron Hornaday, Jr.

The Captain is not known for his tolerance of drivers who are profane and verbally abusive to either a) the media or b) fellow Penske employees. Since Busch hit the double there, it's not exactly a surprise that he's out. The only mystery, frankly, is how he managed to last six years...

Word on the street is Busch signed a contract with Allstate Insurance to appear as the new "Mayhem Guy" "So call Allstate, you save money and be better protected from Mayhem like Kurt Busch"

You're mixing Kyle with Kurt. Kurt hasn't really done much in the way of having a horrible attitude or causing major wrecks. Some of you need to realize that Kurt Busch grew up a whole lot when he moved over to Penske after he was let go over at Roush. The reason why he was let go because he didn't produce much this year, along with previous years. The problems with the media are being taken WAY out of context. He went after them when they kept coming after him to ask questions about his brother's problems when Kurt wanted nothing to do with Kyle. For the last 2 years, Kyle and Kurt haven't talked whatsoever.

I say it was all ok up until he punked Dr Jerry Punch like he was a young intern. that was awkward. penske, good move. And the amount of kyle haters is hilarious. For a league to all of a sudden permanently suspend a driver for something that has been done and dealt with for years within the sports is naive and ludicrous. they got tempers, simple as that. the whole context of the sport is hazardous to your life, so NO you can't use the argument, "he could have killed hornaday", like you're judge judy.

What are you supposed to do when some nut reporter with a mike continually asks gotcha', stupid, and accusatory questions?? I will defend Kurt for not putting up with these nasty media types...

Sorry but Dr Jerry Punch he last victim is one of the most respected media people in auto racing and not a gotcha guy. He is like and trusted buy nearly every driver in several series he as worked. Also he is respected in collage football where he has worked as a field reporter. Not bad for a guy that still practices Medicine throught the week. Kurt had already lost his crew cheif because of his actions. He was willing to leave Penske to get away from him to move to Stewart Hass even before Tony went on a tear in the chase. The Bush boys need to learn that they can be great drivers and out of rides if they do not protect their images. It is one thing to lash out at a driver who ran you into the wall but you can't attack the press. I think his brother got off easy as he did not lose M&M's yet. Drivers today need to remember they represent billion dollar companies that can replace them fast if they damage the name or image of the company they represent. Racing today is big money and great responsibility comes with it. If you want lash out buy your own car and hit the Saturday night bull rings. Bowman Gray still lets you fight.
