Subaru worked up something special for fans of the company's BRZ GT300, releasing a video of the wide-body terror prowling around a race track. As you may have heard, Subaru is retiring the current Legacy race car that's competing in the SuperGT series, and the BRZ GT300 will carry the Subaru flag moving forward.

With its wild bodywork and side-exit exhaust, the BRZ GT300 looks menacing standing still. We can only imagine the thrill of watching it go fender-to-fender with the rest of the field. Subaru says that the BRZ GT300 will join the SuperGT fray early next year. Proud of Boxer, indeed. Hit the jump to check out the video for yourself.

The driving shots, especially the screen capture at the start of the post, look like a video game. It's kind of trippy.

The video is very much like the intro sequence to Gran Turismo games. I mean everything from the way they show the car being prepped, wheels put on, garage/pit door opens, the car rolls out, then explodes into action on the track.

"Proud of Boxer"? Sounds like they borrowed their translator from a fortune cookie company.

how every good sportscar should look. Too bad the anti-ricer MAFs took over (modern American fascists). After outlawing poor taste and large wings on cars, they'll go after fatty foods, smoking and the elderly. You can identify MAFs by their language. They seek conformity, and insult anything that stands apart, using profanity related to homosexuality, penile size, or I.Q. Modern American Fascists actually believe it is their duty to insult those with poor taste.

Japanese and the stupid soundtrack. A true petrolhead knows that a racecar engine sound is vastly superior to any music ever created by a stupid casio keyboard. Even the swiss knows better how to make a teaser for a racecar. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vztKJSBrKPc

Its funny how the BRZ had haters and so called enthusiasts write about its shortcomings and their "expert" opinion of how subaru should have done this and that...I don't see as many appreciating comments on this one...typical of people they will complain about anything but when it comes time to appreciate no one has a word to say...
